Cramping is normal, right?

Ive been having a little cramping even before I got a positive on Saturday but last night I woke up in the middle of the night with pretty strong cramps - typical of what I would usually get the first day of my period. No blood or anything but it's making me feel so anxious. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Cramping is normal, right?

  • I've been having some cramping as well, on and off and similar to pms cramps. No bleeding or spotting.

  • I have had some cramping too, likely cyst related. I think as long as there's not a lot of blood or unbearable pain that sends you to the ER then it's quite normal.

  • I've had cramping too, and was worried about it since I've had a miscarriage before. I just got my 2day HCG results back and I doubled, so it's all good so far.
  • Cramping is quite normal and not a huge concern unless you have bright red bleeding accompaning the cramps.
  • ^^WSS. Your uterus is changing, it's common to experience pain. Extreme bleeding or pain so debilitating you can't move, those will be the times to call your doc. Drinking plenty of water sometimes helps.
  • I cramped with both of mine. Just like period cramps. Everything was fine with both of them too.

  • I got my BFP on Monday when I was supposed to start so I am currently 4 wks and 4 days. I just experienced some cramping so thought to get on here and am slightly relieved to see some people are experiencing it too. I miscarried last October. And I remember cramping around 4 to 5 weeks and that being "normal" but then miscarried at 8. I think they were totally separate from each other and as long as you are not bleeding we are all on the right track. Good luck to everyone!!
  • Very normal!  I had a few days of cramping.  Cramping is usually related to the implantation of the egg and the cyst you get on the ovary that released the egg that will support the hormones needed until the placenta takes over.

  • Was very glad to find this post! I've basically had no symptoms (unless my first ever sunburn in 23 years counts) but I've had sporadic short lived cramps for the last few days, similar to less dramatic period cramps. Very happy to know this is normal!

I have mild cramps and gas. Sounds pretty normal but am still nervous as I have had 2 previous miscarriages.
