I know this is TMI- but I have a question about discharge

I am 7w3d now, following a misscarriage at 8w in March (so Im hoping that Im just over reacting). I know that our discharge can increase (thick, white/milky) whilst pregnant. However over the padt few days mine has (sometimes, but not always after using the loo) been ever so slightly brown/red stained. It is so slight that Im trying to tell myself that either (1) Im overreacting, or (2) Im dehydrated, and so it is just due to dark urine (granted, I probably have been not drinking enough over the last few days). Has anyone else experienced this? Im hoping it wont go on to become bright red and obviously blood.

  • Definitely need to drink more water. At least 100 oz per day. There is possibility it could be a urinary tract infection. Call Dr. to have a UA done.

Hey! I had this exact same thing! I've had three miscarriages and last Sunday night had brown discharge. Ultrasound on Monday showed baby's heart beat. Been having brown discharge all week and another ultrasound Friday also showed baby with heartbeat, doc said it could be due to ovaries, implantation or just normal. I did have it through my pregnancies 10 years ago and produced two healthy girls so it's nothing to worry about but it can be very disconcerting at the time xxx

This happened to me as well, it lasted for a couple of days on and off when I was about 6 weeks it has since gone away and I am almost 9 weeks now! I spoke to the dr about it and they said it can be perfectly normal and said to just keep and eye on it! Hopefully it will stop soon for you too because it was really stressful!
  • Unless accompanied by extremely strong cramps and enough blood to soak a pad, you should be fine. Spotting is normal. However, always contact a doctor if you are ever in doubt, because (most of) the women on this site are not doctors.
  • I actually spotted today, was super nervous and called my Dr immediately. He said no worries, it's very normal. My recommendation is call your Dr, a phone call never hurt anyone.
    Good Luck!
  • I have had the same thing off and on for a week. Had u/s on Wednesday and everything was fine.
