Fluid on brain.. Anyone else?

We are waiting to see a specialist as it looks like our baby has a "small amount of fluid on his brain", but we were also told his ventricles look normal. This makes me think/hope it's more of a "just in case" check to see all is on order rather than something to be overly worried about (which doesn't stop the worry!). Anyone else experienced something similar?

    Keep us updated. My daughter has Hydrocephalus (build up of fluid on the brain) however she wasn't born with it. I will be praying for you all but if you need any support let me know!!

    Thank you - a week to wait til the specialist scan. A long wait!

    Did your little girl have a stunt put in @Kay0910 ? Our dr breezed over it like it ain't no thing!

    My SIL was 34 weeks pregnant when she found out that her baby had hydrocephalus (water on the brain). He had enlarged ventricles which tipped off the ultrasound. 

    When he was 3 months old, they put a shunt in because his ventricles didn't seem to be getting any smaller. He had surgery on a Friday night and left the hospital a happy, healthy baby on Monday morning. 

    My BIL (now 25 years old) also has hydrocephalus. He had a shunt for 25 years. Two months ago, they had to replace it. It was a minor surgery and he is doing great. He has never had any physical, mental, or emotional issues. 

    I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. Your baby is going to be just fine and the medical care is fantastic nowadays.

    My daughter had a shunt placed at 4 months old. We have had to have it adjusted quite a few times but it can be done magnetically so she has only had the one surgery and is 7 years old now.
