Not finding out the gender till birth

hey everyone it's our first pregnany and we are 17 weeks and decided to not find out what we are having we want it to be a surprise
Anyone else waiting for have waited till the birth
We decided to go with Aqua and grey for nursery and grey clothes as the main color
We started a registry and honestly I'm totally fine with it
Plus if you have a child of each gender later you don't have to re buy stuff I figured that we can get girlie stuff or boy stuff later when babies here
Isn't it one of the best surprises you can have in life

Re: Not finding out the gender till birth

  • We didn't find out our 1st baby's gender and we aren't for the 2nd either. It was lots of fun! Our nursery is yellow, white and brown.

Aw I'm excited for you both. I'm 17 weeks as well and do not know yet. I almost found out Wednesday but I decided to hold off another month. I would like to continue through until birth not knowing but my SO wants to know so we're kind of at a stand still. I'm getting a lot of pressure from friends and family on finding out but ultimately it's up to me and they will just have to deal with it! I love your Aqua and grey color idea! Good luck!
  • Ladies hat goes of to you.. We couldn't do it. I have thought of it, with #1 went to 22 weeks and just couldn't do it.. Congrats on your babies and patience
  • We're not finding out. The nursery is navy, grey, and white.
  • We did this with my son and have made the same decision with this baby. I will never, ever, ever forget the look on my husband's face when the nurse announced, it's a boy! It really is worth the wait..and to be honest, being able to find out the gender was a little extra motivation on those last few pushes for me. I chose to have a drug-free birth and was so tired, but in the back of my mind all I wanted was to have that baby in my arms and learn if I had a son or daughter. It was worth the wait and helped me get through the pain of a natural child birth.
  • Head over to the team green thread there are alot of us
  • We aren't finding out baby's gender either. I love that we are going to get that ultimate surprise with out last baby! I've been picking out grey neutral outfits too! I figure I can girl them up with headbands or hats and mitts.
The nursery will have mint and grey. Once I know what baby is, I'll add peach tones if it's a girl and probably navy if it's a baby boy.

I'm 14 weeks and as of right now, we aren't finding out either. We also aren't sharing the potential names because we don't want input (not to mention this is our first, and I don't want EVERYTHING monogrammed since we plan to have more children.... us southerners LOVE our monograms). I have a serious issue with gender neutral items, so I'm trying really hard to let it go. I decided not to go with a "theme" for our nursery, but a color scheme. We're doing navy and white bedding, and if it is a girl, I'm going to accent with coral, and if it is a boy, I'm going to accent with aqua. If you really don't want to know, stick to your guns! Don't let other people pressure you about finding out. Half of our families are all for it, and the others say we are mean for not finding out plus not telling names. I say, oh well! :)
  • Hubby and I had always talked about not finding out and we were still on that side when we found out we were pregnant!! But being military and him being in another country for the entire pregnancy.....it is one of the few things we can share and I think it helps him to feel more a part of the pregnancy from so far away
  • We are on baby number 2 and we didn't find out either time it was amazing seeing the look of excitement on my husband's face and our family when the baby arrived we wouldn't do it any other way it's truly one of the last and best surprises ever our nursery is sage green with cherry wood congrats and good luck to you all

  • 18 weeks and not finding out here. I am doing grey and white clothes and nursery as well. All baby gear doing aqua things and neutrals so I can use again. If a girl- will accent with pink and if boy Aqua or red. Hate yellow and green things so really not registering for any of that type of gender neutral.
