am 39 weeks 2 days pregnant ..visited doc today.she told tat my baby is not engaged in pelvic area.she suggest to induce labor on day after tomorrow.or she can do a c section also.which is the better option & can you share some induced labor experiences with me?
No one can tell you how long it will take to deliver your baby. Your doctor sounds sketchy to have offered you a major surgery, a cesarean.... I think this has to be mud. No.
On the off chance that this is serious... from my limited medical understanding, if you've had a healthy pregnancy, there isn't a reason why you should NEED either an induction or a c section prior to your due date. In fact, I personally would not consider either option until a week afterwards, but that's just me. There's still plenty of time for baby to engage in your pelvic area.
For birth experiences, check out the birth announcements thread at the top of the board's page.
Also, keep in mind that I have absolutely no medical background and I'm a FTM.
Hi there. None of us are going to be able to help you know which is the better option for you. You need to discuss the pros and cons of each approach with your Dr in detail to determine what best fits your situation. I'm not sure your Dr doesn't want to wait until you are at least 40 weeks and *then* begin to consider to these options, but again, only your Dr can tell you they are thinking about doing this early.
As for induction or csection stories, a lot of us are still waiting to have our babies and while we do have some second or more time moms here, a lot of us are first time moms so we have no experience. I would suggest you navigate over to the May and possibly April boards and use the search function (located at either the top of bottom of your screen) to search using keywords induced or csection. I just tried it and found a couple of threads in May related to being induced that may give you an idea of experiences, but you also have to remember that EVERY SINGLE WOMAN and EVERY SINGLE BIRTH are different, so despite reading all the stories in the world on induction or csection, your own personal situation could still be VASTLY different
-That's sketchy that your DOC mentioned it if you aren't even engaged. My doctor said he WOULD induce me a week early (@ 39w2d) so I could start back school on time BUT only because I was already thinning & dilating on my own. & for a doctor to offer a C without any issues?... You need to have a sit down.
I don't believe this. What doctor recommends induction or c-section early simply because baby isn't engaged? If this is real you should find a new doctor. Or there's more to the story, in which case you should be talking to your doctor anyway.
I usually don't respond to nonsense (with actual words), but OP...REALLY? Your post makes no sense at all.. "Hashtag"- losing faith in humanity...I think we need that thread bumped

Yup. If the baby isn't engaged, an induction is more likely to end in an emergency C...I can't see a doctor suggesting this unless there was a valid medical concern. Definitely MUD.
