With my first daughter I ended up having to have an episiotomy and forceps used to get her out. She was getting stressed. (She was only 7lbs 11oz) I am due with another girl and can't stop thinking I'll have to have another episiotomy. Which I really don't want. (My first was a level 3 pushing level 4 and got infected. I was miserable for weeks which is why I'm dreading the thought of another one) I was just wondering if any of you other moms had one and ended up with another and if it was the same or not. Any advice would be great! Thank you!!
Re: Episiotomy first time..chance of having another?
It was probably more a product of the forceps that made your recovery so hard. Isn't a vacuum assist supposed to be more gentle? Perhaps someone can weigh in, that might be an alternative if you need help again. Did they say why your daughter was stressed, were you on Pit?
