I have a DD who is 14mo and while I use my iphone to take pics and videos I am constantly running out of memory. I love looking at the home videos my parents recorded when we were kids and would love to do the same for DD and this new LO.

What are your thoughts on getting a video camera? If you got one, which one do you recommend? I'm not looking to break the bank but I want something decent.

  • I would honestly get a phone with a bigger data storage and use the iCloud.
We bought an expensive camera before my daughter came and while we still break it out from time to time the best moments we've captured - both still pictures and video have been on my iPhone.
I just upgraded to the largest iPhone 6 plus I could get. It takes amazing pictures.

My husband is a professional video journalist and still takes most of our best pictures on his iPhone too. The pro cameras are large and hard to tote around and get the spontaneous shots.

  • We as well use a video camera for the big stuff holidays, etc etc.. But our phones are number one.. I have saved all the videos on PC plans to put them all together and make our own versions of home videos.. I date them as I store them don't want to jump a day
  • We have an awesome water proof, dust proof, shock proof digital camera that also takes good video. Plus you can link it to wifi and upload it straight to your computer or fb.
