2nd Trimester

Mid-day exhaustion

I thought the fatigue was supposed to go away in the second trimester! This is going to be the second day this week I have had to go home early because I literally can't keep my eyes open. Does anyone have any suggestions? Caffeine is completely off limits because I won't sleep at night if I have it past 10am :(

Re: Mid-day exhaustion

  • I am 18 weeks and just started having the exhaustion and dizziness. I was scared at first but read that this is normal at this phase. I want to give this one a bump because I'm looking for an answer to the same question. I work as a diesel mechanic, and not working for 6 months is completely out of the question for me, so I have to find a way to handle it. Caffeine isn't working anyway for me, sugar is only a limited help and the move slowly and change positions recommendations do nothing. Any better suggestions? Something I can eat or drink? I already take vitamins, I already eat regularly, I just don't know what else to do.

  • I'm 17 weeks and the exhaustion is still in full swing for me too.
  • I'm at 20 weeks, and while blessedly the nausea finally went away, fatigue has not. And boy, does that stink when I'm at work. I've just been reminding myself that I'll take it over morning sickness any day.
  • I'm also completely wiped all the time. Mid day I feel like I was hit by a truck. This exhaustion comes along with a headache, dizziness, and nausea. I'm 17 weeks, praying this is better soon ; (
