Hello,

My name is Sarah, I am 34 years old. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant (obviously, since I am on this site!)

I have been monitoring my cycle using two aps (Glow and P-Tracker). Based on a standard person, they say I would ovulate on the 17th of this month. I did two ovulation kits and both game me the "green light" on the 17th. We "cuddled" the 10-14th, 17, 19 and 22-23. Based on the aps, I should have my period on Monday. I have been having cramping for ~1.5 weeks, my boobs hurt and I am bloated. I just took a First Response Gold Digital Test that came out negative. would this test have caught a pregnancy two days before my period? Maybe all of this is just due to my period, I dont know. I REALLY want a baby...Can anyone share some insight?

Negative test means you are not pregnant at this time.

Please use fertility friend for an app, way better tracking. Also you should temp.

Well, first I think you should try vaginal intercourse instead of "cuddling". Ha

Second, your apps cannot tell you when you ovulated unless it's fertilityfriend and you out in your temps. Opks tell you you are having an LH surge, but they can't tell you if you ovulated.

Third, If your symptoms were caused by pregnancy, your test would be positive. That is because pregnancy tests pick up a very tiny amount of hcg which is the hormone that causes pregnancy symptoms. Cramping is very common during the luteal phase and doesn't mean you're pregnant.

I'm sorry you're not pregnant at this time. Keep testing once a week until you get a positive or your period. Use a pink dye test.

Lastly, you would really benefit from learning about your cycle. Everyone loves Taking Charge of your fertility by toni weschler and do the tutorials on fertilityfriend and download the app.

First your period doesn't read a calendar. Second the only way you know when you ovulated is by temping and third if your having pregnancy related symptoms then you would be able to get a positive hpt. I would suggest temping, using Fertility Friend and pick up a copy of Taking charge of your fertility.

Thank you for your kind reply @TheBorg7of9. I appreciate the advice and the PATIENCE. I will read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and try Fertility Friend.

I am new to this forum, so likely I am missing something...but I had thought this would be a place where we supported one another and could ask questions freely... maybe you guys are getting the same question over and over ... but, I do appreciate those of you who wrote helpful responses.
