Weight loss?

has anyone else noticed any weight loss? It can't be from the nausea because I've only puked one time, and I actually eat more now than before I was pregnant. I'm not complaining! But just wondering if this is Normal?

Re: Weight loss?

  • Hey I think I lost a little bit too, I think it is because I'm trying to not eat any added sugar (mostly chocolate, which is my big guilty pleasure). Maybe the nerves also...

  • I've lost three pounds. Probably not from drinking and also eating as healthy as I can.
  • I've lost, too, and I had this same question. I got my BFP on Saturday, and we ate out for dinner that night and lunch the next day. I woke up this morning and weighed myself to find that I've actually lost weight. I've read on other posts that I should not be concerned. I guess everything inside is busy preparing to house a baby, and that is what's burning extra calories.
  • I lost weight during my first pregnancy. My midwife said it was completely normal.
  • It's not uncommon to lose weight in the first trimester, especially if you are experiencing some morning sickness. If you're worried, talk to your OB, but it's usually not a problem unless you have lost 10% or more of your body weight.

I too have lost about 5lbs since I found out I was prego! It's crazy bc I feel like I'm constantly eating...maybe my metabolism is better since in eating throughout the day? I've had no morning sickness yet so I've been a bit concerned too (praying that we don't get the mornings sickness bug hit us :) )! Good luck with everything ladies!

I lost 6kg with my first pregnancy and 10kg with my second pregnancy and so far 3.5kg with this one and I'm 7 weeks. I haven't thrown up with any of the pregnancies but my metabolism speeds up like crazy. I'm hungry constantly. It's amazing. Lol.

I'm actually glad you wrote this because everyone thinks it's strange that I lose weight, I'm glad someone else does too.
  • I lost 8lbs since finding out, I'm 8weeks.

I posted the other day but I ended up calling my doc and they want me to get some blood work done to make sure my thyroid levels are in check before I go in for my 8 wk ultra sound (next thurs). So now, my advice would be to let your doc know if you have lost more than a few pounds and give not suffered from nausea!
  • Is anyone else still losing weight? I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and have lost 16 pounds. I was only 132 pounds to begin with.. Feeling really worried...
  • I'm down 18lbs now at 13 weeks, but I'm very fluffy so I'm not worried. I've just been eating a lot less (not much appetite) and not drinking, lol.
  • I've maintained my current weight for the most part, but there are days where I am 2-3lbs less than my current weight.  I am almost out of the 1st trimester and haven't put on any weight.  I think a lot is due to eating smaller meals and not snacking so much in between meals, like I used to.
  • I'm 12 weeks with twins and I believe I've lost 10 pounds will find out for sure monday at my appt. Then I will set my scales by the doctors. I am little bit overweight (about a size 14) and have not had any morning sickness. So let's home OB says good things.
  • I'm 14 weeks and I've lost about 25 pounds due to nausea and not really eating. But I was also overweight...they've told me that they aren't really worried and that I will gain weight once my morning sickness subsides (pleaseeeee be soon)
  • It really does worry me. I look ridiculously thin everywhere but my stomach...
  • 7 pounds as of my midwife appointment last Monday. I can still only eat a few things.

  • I'm almost 14 weeks and have lost 10 lbs since I got pregnant. I'm not worried and neither is my doctor as I'm still in the healthy range for my height, and I had extreme morning sickness from weeks 6-13 (as in vomiting 3x per day, no appetite). I wouldn't worry unless you continue to lose weight well into your second trimester. My OB said I only need to gain 25-35 lbs so I'll be happy with anything in that range.
  • I think moral of the story is: if your doc isn't worried, you don't need to be! :)
  • Yep I have lost 10 lbs since the beginning, and have stayed at -10 lbs this whole time, and I'm 15 weeks. I just can't eat as much as I use to before feeling sick.
  • I am almost 13wks, Eating a lot but i am also losing weight but i guess its ok
