I haven't specifically sat and done counts but depending on the time of day I get 10 easily. They say to drink some orange juice and lay on your left side and count. I get the most kicks when I lay down to go to sleep at night
I haven't really counted movements, but I just notice her little kicks off and on throughout the day. I feel like she hasn't been as active, so I'm drinking cold water and laying down waiting for movement. It seems to be working! Felt a little roll and movement as I was typing this. Wish I didn't worry so much... Lol
I used to have no problem getting 10 kicks in a matter of minutes but my munchkin moves a lot less now and the movements are very subtle. This stresses me out significantly especially when I've been doing something or been distracted for an hour or so and haven't registered movement, then I'm a wreck trying to get baby to move! I did read yesterday at my gestational age, 34+3, babies are sleeping 85-90% of the time so that diminished my fears a bit. Talked to my doctor about it and she noted to find a pattern that is normal for my baby, it may not be 10 movements an hour but just a baseline for us. I'm much happier with that!
My doctor said 10 movements in 2 hours only once a day is fine. My LO went through a calm stage, but she is now entering the "feels like an alien" stage. So counting hasn't really been necessary for me. She's in there and moving for sure.
Our girl is very active. I think one night it only took 6 minutes to get 10 movements. She moves more during the day now than at night, which is a good thing because they say around this time to birth how ever they move will most likely be their sleep patterns.
I drink cold water all throughout the day and my little boy moves past 10 movements easily. I don't know if it's the water or his personality though. My OB said ten in morning ten at night, I don't count bc it's literally a lot at any given time.
I count them in the morning after breakfast. Baby likes the taste of coffee I guess. The "Count the Kicks" website says you're supposed to put your feet up, but my baby is most active while I'm at work, so I just count them while sitting in a chair. It usually takes under 5 minutes for 10 kicks (er...except for today--he's pretty quiet for some reason).
Thanks for your replies. Some days I get my 10 in 20 minutes, last night it took an hour in a half. I have an anterior placenta so I think that might muffle some of the feelings from movement. It's so hard not to panic!

I agree. And now as we approach the end, we supposedly won't feel them as much as they'll have less room.
