Not a good idea - (1) diarrhea can lead to severe dehydration. You don't want to start labor dehydrated. (2) Can cause intense contractions - if your cervix isn't favorable this can lead to baby being in distress.
If you still want to try, call and ask your Doctor first
Only thing you're likely to end up doing is giving yourself gastrointestinal distress, like mommaswizz's most appropriate gif up there. But yeah, if you're still hot on it, call your Dr. Also, you may as well jump over to the May board, I know they've talked about it a few times, and as far as I saw when I was over there reading their threads, all they got was a tummyache and the sh*ts. But maybe you'll find something
We have a few nurses on this board and the general consensus is DON'T DO IT! @mamaswizz is not exaggerating and the L&D nurses at your hospital are not going to be happy with you if you shit everywhere during labor!
Not exactly scientific but covers several OWT. I did acupuncture with DS and had him the next day. I think the most important thing is that you shouldn't be trying to induce labor unless you're past 39 weeks.
I took it once to help me poop... I will never take that stuff again.... Oh ..my... God... The worst stomach cramps.. So much poop.. Made me sick.. Light headed.. It was such a bad time. Do. Not. Do. It.
Don't ever EVER do it. Not that this will happen for you-sharing a story. A friend was 41 weeks and did it and had a bleeding hemorroid. Ouch! Then she had a c-section due to baby distress. It's just not a good thing for you at all!
