Anyone Else Have Implants?!

Sort of multiple topic post.../venting sesh! Lol..

So! My dear goodness.. I have 800CC ultra high profile silicone implants.. Was a 32GG to start..... My boobs have grown SO much in 23w that I have a ton of stretch marks on both of them :( I literally have honeydew melons on my chest. Cant find a regular wire bra pre pregnancy thatd fit right... So now more than ever stuck in sports bras but they dont seem to hold them tight enough. Sooo very painful. Id say ive gone up 3-4 cups already...... Was NOT prepared for this! Lol

I heard that the implants cause breast tissue thinning, which makes you more prone to stretch marks... I have ZERO on my belly/anywhere else.. Just there. So so painful.

I'm wondering if I will be able to BF, they are under the muscle and was told many times this shouldnt effect my ability because they do not mess with the breast tissue or milk ducts... But still. Anyone have experience with this?

Re: Anyone Else Have Implants?!

  • I don't have implants myself but if the implants were put in properly they should not interfere with your ability to breastfeed. Sorry for all the pain you're going through! That sounds pretty miserable.

  • Yikes im sorry to hear that. I dont have any advice just hope you can get some relief soon
  • Mee! I can't remember but I think I have 460 cc? Mod +, high profile, saline. I started out as barely a 32a and now I'm 32dd -ddd. Which is honestly not that big but can be hard to find bras. I haven't had any stretch marks or anything but since my pregnant my boobs have barely grown. My mom said hers didn't really take off until her milk came in. I can't imagine trying to find bras in your size! Small waist makes finding bras hard enough, going past the d's seems impossible to find anything.
As far as breastfeeding, the implants don't affect anything.. but where your incisions are does. I have areola insicisions so I was really worried that my ducts would be damaged. But luckily I have been having a lot of colostrum leaks so I at least know they are working! Have you had any leaking yet?
  • One of my friends is in the same boat as you - very large cup size, tiny band size. I have no advice regarding the implants as her breasts are natural, but she once said that Queen Latifah makes a line of bras that you can get at Walmart that were just awesome. Maybe check their website for extended sizes? Can you get some relief by icing them? I hope you find a good bra and some relief soon!
  • Look at Dillards for a bra. A GG should be about the same as an H. I am a natural 34H right now and found mine at Dillards. I have no experience with implants but it should be fine as long as it is under the muscle and they didn't move your aerola by removing and reattaching it.
  • My bestie has implants and nursed both of her two kids. It shouldn't be a problem if they were done correctly. I'm not sure where she bought her bras from...

  • I have breast implants too... Usually there are 2 types of breast augmentation surgeries (under the muscle or over the muscle), over the muscle tends to be the less sore and quicker healing option, which is what my plastic surgeon told me, where under the muscle is a longer, more painful surgery with a tad bit of a longer recovery time. If however you choose the under muscle surgery (which i also had), you're able to breast feed as they insert the implants under your milk glands and muscle... So shouldnt have any problem breast feeding, or well atleast not caused by the implants :) hope it helps :)
  • Thank you ALL so very kindly for responding!! I appreciate your well wishes, and am praying they stop growing!! Lol

Yes they are under the muscle, I am very glad to hear of other women having no issues BF.. Thats great! My incisions are in the crease/fold underneath, so the nipple was not touched at all either.. And no leaking at all yet actually, Im very glad to hear you are (not that it is enjoyable!) but because you know for sure you're making milk :) I'm 23w 5d now.. If I do start to leak then I will take it as a bonus and relieving!

Thanks all, again! I cannot believe how much my chest has grown, and I have no idea why either. It's obscene lol.

I wish you all a great weekend, and hope you're all feeling fantastic!! :)
  • I'm a natural 34i right now...I know I will get to a J/K when nursing (I topped out at that with both other kiddos) I hope for your sake they slow down soon bc I know the pain! I use diapers filled with water and frozen as ice packs for my boobs when they are hurting really badly, they "cup" them perfectly! Lol

This is the bra I'm in love with bc its stretchy enough for some growth but still supportive...and an underwire!
  • I am a natural 32G and also 23 weeks. My boobs just started to really grow. I find luck with bras at Nordstrom and since it is hard to find small band large cup bras I get the cup size I need and tailor the band. Works like a charm and fits custom! A super fancy bra shop near me in Denver does the tailoring for $10/bra. Also converts them to nursing bras for $10 so you can keep your favorites as you breast feed. I hope you can find a lingerie shop by you that does the same.
  • I don't have implants but do have large breasts (38GG). There's a store in my city called The Bra Patch that specializes in odd sizes (small band-large breast and large band-small breast). Or look for a Pennyrich store. They would be able to help you find something more supportive and that should help with the pain. Also zulilly had nursing bras for pretty good prices in the larger sizes. I will probably get a few from there when time comes.
