January 2016 Moms

Infertility check- in, please feel free to join!!

Hello ladies!

I am an IF veteran and I am creating this check in so that all those Jan 2016 moms who have battled infertility can connect here and support one another.

I know how stressful the early weeks can be with all the blood work appointments and sheer terror so I will post this check in weekly so we can all check in and get whatever we need to off our chests! Please feel free to join no matter what stage of IF you were in when you conceived. Ok here goes, since this is the first check in let's GTKY.
1) Please share as much of your journey as you want.
2) Tell us how far along you are
3) Tell us what your next appointment is
4) Tell us your weirdest symptom to date

Looking forward to getting to know you all and wishing us all a calm and quiet 9 months!!

TTC#1 May 2009- July 2010 on our own with no luck

Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man.  Born 12/2/11

TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended

Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good.  Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.

Back with RE as of January 2014...

5/27/14- Chemical Pregnancy :(

April 2015 IVF#1

5/13/15- BFP, please stick LO!

  • I'll go first to break the ice :)

    1. We have battled IF for 6 years and been lucky enough to have one wonderful little boy back in dec 2011. He was conceived via an injectable IUI. We have had multiple losses along the way. This BFP resulted from a fresh transfer from our first IVF. We have already had a miscarriage scare last week when my beta did not double on the 5 week draw. It has picked back up and we saw a yolk sac and fetal pole yesterday, so we are feeling very cautious still.

    2. We are 5 weeks 6 days today

    3. Next appointment is Monday for blood and ultrasound

    4. So far when I stand up it feels like something in my abdomen is caught and I can't stand straight up for a minutes.

  • Good morning!

    1. My husband and I have dealt with infertility for the last 2+ years. I was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis and had laproscopic surgery 6 months ago. I did 3 rounds of clomid/Femara with no success. We were about to do our first round of iui when I found out I was pregnant!

    2. I am 6 weeks today. I had my beta draw at 4 weeks and then 48 hours later. Numbers quadrupled so I'm hopeful.

    3. My first appt is next Tuesday at 6 weeks 5 days so I'm hoping to hear a heartbeat!

    4. So far indigestion, lots of round ligament cramps, a little nausea early in the morning and at dinner time. Major dislike for sugar and heavily seasoned foods.

Praying for everything to continue on smoothly!

    Hi All,
Consider this my introduction as I have yet to introduce myself to the board.
    1. Unfortunately I have been blessed with Celiac Disease and PCOS so getting pregnant initially took some help. However, I was able to get pregnant easily with Clomid but my first three pregnancies ended in missed miscarriages and D&C's. After my second I started seeing an RE.  Due to finding nothing medically wrong with my husband and I it was determined that the three miscarriages were simply a result of the wrong sperm meeting the wrong egg...not exactly comforting but also reassuring knowing that having a healthy baby was possible! Fortunately, my employer pays for IVF 100% and my RE stated that growing an embryo to a 5 day blast often reflects the embryo being "genetically good"...so rather than keep doing what we were doing, we decided to try IVF.  In May of 2013 our first fresh IVF cycle resulted in our baby girl (she is 16 months now).  We went back to try for baby #2 using our frozen embryo's and well, I'm pregnant again! Praying all goes well, as it did with my daughter. Excited to be here but also very cautious as my history won't really allow me to believe all will come to fruition until I'm out of the first trimester. Look forward to meeting my IVF January 2015 buddies :)
    2. I'm 4 weeks 6 days today
    3. Next appointment is 6.3 to have an ultrasound to check fetal sack and pole
    4. I was loosing my cookies last week, but this week all is good...I have no symptoms as of yet - thank goodness my blood work all came back great yesterday or I'd probably be a nervous wreck!

  • Hello ladies :)

We have been trying for almost 3 years at this point. We had 2 MCs and 2 ectopic along the way, one of which was the first and only round of clomid. I was Dx with endometriosis as a teenager and had 2 surgeries and bouts of HRT after... Who knows how that contributed to our current situation. We finally agreed to go IVF and currently we are at 7+5 on our first fresh cycle! Our first u/s was last Thursday and everything was in the right place and we saw the HR @121. Our next appointment is still another 2 weeks away on 6/10... Such a long wait it seems!! I think my worst symptom is having IF brain and always thinking the worst will happen. I've gotten so used to disappointment that it's as if I don't know what to do with good news! But I'm trying :)

Fx for a H&H 9mo to us all!

    2 Miscarriages
    2 Ectopic Pregnancies
