How many calories are you consuming a day?

I am 18w1d with twins & I'm concerned I'm not getting enough calories. I haven't had much appetite in the past week & over the course of my pregnancy, I haven't really been eating more than normal. I eat what I want, when I want but suddenly, I'm concerned it isn't enough.
How many calories are you all eating/day? Any tricks for sneaking calories when you have zero appetite?

I'm just like you. I have a hard time feeling like I'm not hungry why should I go eat more to meet the calorie goal. I'm not actually counting though

I'm not counting the calories either but I'm in the same boat.  I feel like I eat about the same or even less because I don't have much of an appetite.  I got on the scale this morning and it said I've lost!  I have my monthly appointment today so I'm interested to see what they say about my weight.  He mentioned something last month that I should start to see the weight gain.  I'm hoping my little guy can live off of the plenty of reserves I have already!  I just can't eat as much as I use to!  It's like my stomach is smaller.  If I got to a restaurant and finish my meal like I did before....it feels like I just ate two Thanksgiving meals and am very uncomfortable.  I definiately just try to make sure I snack a lot during the day.

  • I'm not having twins, but have some tips that may help. I think a lot of women try to add liquids if they aren't hungry. Drinking Ensure or Boost could add some protein.  Try adding in small high-calorie snacks:  almonds, pb, full fat yogurt, 2% or whole fat milk, ice cream, avocados, trail mix, etc.

I'm 18 weeks and have only gained 2 lbs. My doctor told me today that I need to gain more, but I just can't. I get really hungry, yet once I start eating, the appetite disappears. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. :-/

I haven't been eating anymore than before I was pregnant. To be honest I probably don't meet my own personal daily calorie count most days. I never go hungry I just don't eat a lot. I do make an effort to remember to eat breakfast, and drinking an Ensure once a day really helps. I know I hadn't been getting much protien before starting the drinks. I lost 15 lbs the first trimester and since adding the drinks I have been maintaining my weight a little better.

  • I was dieting pretty hard before getting pregnant, 1200-1300 calories a day. If I want to level out I do 1500, 1750 if I need to gain. I gained a ton my first trimester so I've been less aggressive with gaining, like .5 lbs a week. I haven't had trouble being hungry, I feel pretty ravenous most of the time.
