Funny but frustrating situation for STM

I'll start from the very beginning. My DD is 2 yrs old and she is extremely excited to meet her baby brother. Which makes me extremely thrilled that there is not a jealous bone in her body toward him, right now anyway.
So yesterday DD and I ran some errands and I picked up a box of diapers (you know, because we're going to need them eventually). I explain to DD who they're for and she's all excited about it and can't stop talking about the baby. It's adorable.
Fast forward to 1 am this morning...
DH and I are fast asleep, but I'm woken by a noise. I get up to check out whats going on and the first thing I notice are all the lights on in the house. Then I find my DD in nothing but her underwear, in baby's room with the ENTIRE box of diapers strewn across the bedroom floor.
A million things are racing through my mind:
WHAT are you still doing up at 1 am?
WHERE are your pajamas?
WHY are diapers all over the place?
HOW will I survive two children???
WHAT IS GOING ON???

Her response: "my baby need diaper" holding up her doll.

Now it's almost 4 am, she's asleep. I'm still awake because baby hasn't settled down since then. Another night of sleep has been robbed of me. At the same time, it was cute. I'm not sure how I can be upset and still laugh at the situation, but I am.

Any other funny, frustrating, adorable STM+ stories? Let's hear them...

  • My 20-month old DS likes to kiss my belly, and put food and his bottle in my belly button to feed the baby. Then he will lift up his shirt to show me his baby. When I tell him the baby is kicking, he will say "No, baby!" He doesn't want her to hurt mommy. So stinking cute!

  • My husband and I joke about how she will be up every time he cries. Attempting to get him out of the crib and handling things herself. She's going to be a great little helper.

Both of your sons sound so sweet, they'll be great older brothers. It's amazing how well they comprehend things at such young ages.
  • A www... Loving these stories ladies!!!

  • My 1 yr old points at his tummy when you ask where the baby is, he also like to get her brush and hide with it so he can brush his hair. Too cute!

Omg that's so funny! My LO is 2 and and says hi and kisses my belly. And if we go somewhere she says Baby brother come too. She also will pinch my belly and puts him in her belly lmao! And says baby brother is In her belly! For the ones with 2 year olds are they potty trained? I wanted to PT my LO but don't think it's going to happen before baby comes
  • So I'm not a STM, but I teach preschool and the kids in my class are all pretty excited for the baby. They have also started asking a lot of questions about babies. Any of the Q's I don't really want to answer I usually just ask what they think and just say "well that's an interesting idea!" The other day a boy asked how the baby will come out of my belly so I opened it up for any ideas. One boy said the doctor will just push really hard on my belly and the baby and all his blood will come out through my mouth and nose. Another boy said they will cut my mouth open all the way to my ears and then pull the top of my head back and reach down my throat and pull the baby up! Those were two of the most interesting ideas for labor I heard! Cracked me up hearing 4 year olds describing birth and labor!!

Ha ha! This makes natural labor seem pretty easy.
  • To MEXARAB, my little boy will be 2 next month and I do not believe he is anywhere close to being potty trained. I was hoping he would be but he is not ready and I am not pushing him to be so we will just have 2 babies in diapers for a while.
  • My youngest was potty trained by his second birthday however my oldest was nearly 5

  • My son is 2 1/2. My favorite thing is when he runs to give me a big hugs and bumps into my belly. Plus he has to check out all of the ultrasound photos, saying "it's my little brother!!!"
  • Lol my 9 year old snuck a diaper for her baby alive. It's cute.
  • DS just turned 2. He will say baby when you ask what's in mama's belly and will give the belly a kiss but really has no clue.

He's obsessed with my now outie belly button though! He will say "i want belly button" and try to pull my shirt up(sometimes at awkward times!) He rubs it to fall asleep it's so weird. He will also pretend to be a kitty cat and bends down to my belly button... meows and pretend to eat from it?! Such a weirdo..no idea where he gets that from! (We don't have any pets)

No interest in potty training and pedi said with baby #2 coming so soon, don't push it as he'll likely regress anyways... so 2 in diapers it is!
