I was down 14. Now just 10. I'm still sick occasionally but I lost a ton in the 1st trimester due to bad morning sickness. Needed Iv for fluids couple times so I feel your worrying pain. Just keep eating whatever you can or healthy and keep your dr in the loop. Mind haven't seen concerned but it is a relief when weight starts back up. :)

  • I am 17 weeks tomorrow and as of last Tuesday I am down 20 pounds and haven't had any morning sickness, so naturally I am eating like a horse but can't explain the weight loss and neither can my doctor but they aren't concerned. With my first baby I continued to loose weight the entire pregnancy by the time I delivered I lost just over 40 pounds!
  • If it's not more than 10% of your body weight and you are hydrated you are fine.
  • If it's not more than 10% of your body weight and you are hydrated you are fine.

This. Just saying a number doesn't mean anything. If you weigh 100lbs losing 8lbs since getting pregnant is a much different story than if your starting weight was 200lbs. It's all about percentage of body weight and how you are handling your hydration. If you're concerned call your dr.
  • I'm down 26.5
  • I'm down 8 pounds
  • If you are eating a healthier diet than before you got pregnant, you are going to lose weight even if you haven't upped your exercise. And if you have, then that also accounts for some of it. I was slightly overweight before I got pregnant and was happy that I lost 4lbs in my first trimester (kind of sad it was only 4) part because of the nausea and part because I started walking everyday and eating way more fruits and veggies. As long as your doc isn't concerned and baby is growing, enjoy pregnancy and try not to worry!
  • I'm down 39 lbs, just a bit worried
  • Its fine I didnt gain a single pound with my son and he weighed 9 pounds and was perfectly healthy. Your body weight shifts and changes if youre hydrated and your dr isn't worried I wouldn't stress about it
  • I'm 16 weeks now, but by the time I was 14 weeks I had lost 30 pounds. I was diagnosed with HG (Hyperemesis gravidarum) which is basically 'extreme morning sickness'. No fun. But it's finally getting better! I've gained back 3 pounds and can eat small amounts of solid food again (I was only drinking about 2-3 Ensures a day). My OB told me that my baby is fine despite the excessive puking/intermittent dehydration, and weight loss. Don't get too worried!
