Anxiety leaving baby

so we need to go to the store to get a few things and my husband said he'd go but there are certain things I need that he doesn't know which ones and he asked if I can go with him and my MIL can watch her which I know she's do a good job at but it makes me so scared to leave her. I feel like it's to early. Does anyone feel like this or left there baby yet. I want to help him but I'm so scared to leave her

  • Why not take the baby with you?

  • I think leaving for 30minutes is fine. DH and I ran errands the other day for an hour.

But why can't you take her?

  • We left baby with DH brother and his wife when she was 12 days old so we could go have lunch. It was a nice break and made coming back to her even more special.
  • I know exactly how you feel, I was the same way with my first. It will be ok though!!!!! If it causes you too much anxiety though I'd just take the baby with you!

I left mine with my husband at about 2 weeks and then left her once with my mom at 2 weeks. Both were fully capable of caring for her, but I had a lot of anxiety too. It's getting better when I leave her since then for brief periods of time, but I still miss her so much.
  • I think I will take her with me
  • I'm taking him with me but keeping him covered
  • I know how you feel, I can't even leave him for an hour. My mom kept offering that she watches him, but I don't feel safe, I trust that she can care for him, but I know I will not be at ease!
  • I was like that with my first but my mom made me run to the store. She said the longer I went, the harder it would be. Not sure if that is true but I had horrible anxiety leaving him until I had my second child. It's nice to not have that as badly this time.

  • I left DD with my MIL for half an hour to run an errand with DH when she was about 4 days old, she slept the entire time.
We left her again for 2 hours last night so we could go to dinner for my birthday, again slept the entire time.
With my first baby it was hard leaving, first time I just went to go get coffee around the corner and when I realized everything was fine longer trips were much easier.
  • Your anxiety is totally understandable. But it might do you a world of good to be away for 30 minutes.
