I just need to vent

For the past two nights i haven't been able to lay in the bed at all.  My hips are killing me when i lay down.  I've tried stretching, taking a shower, tylenol.  Nothing is working anymore.  I'm at my wits ends.  I'm stuck here at work until 4 and I'm exhausted to say the least.  I don't remember pregnancy being this hard.i know its been almost 12 years since i've had a baby geesh.  I feel like crying.  I want to shop for my lil girl and just walk around the mail but I can't.  The pain had gotten better but now its back with a vengence.  Then I look over at my partner and hes sound a sleep that really pisses me off lol.  He'll wake up and ask if there is anything he can do to help.

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Have you considered a chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy? I have never been, but people swear by them.

  • I have one of those breast feeding pillows and for the past week I've been placing it between my legs as I sleep, its helped me a lot!

  • i would recommend looking into a chiropractor or a prenatal massage. i just had my first prenatal massage last night - due to hip/low back pain - which i think is in large part due to sleeping on my side, and the beginnings of a waddle - but i feel a lot better. hot shower after the massage and today i felt substantially better and slept better last night as well.

hope you find some kind of relief!
  • Forgot to add that any pillow would probably help but i prefer this one because it is thicker and firmer than the ones we sleep on

  • I second the chiropractor and massage route. If anything, I would get a massage. It's amazing how much muscular tension you can hold in and around the hips. I went into my massage thinking it would be an hour of relaxing and it wouldn't help much. I couldn't have been more wrong. It hurt getting all the tension out and afterwards I could tell I was looser. I was sore for about 2 days but I have had zero hip pain at night since. Hope you get some relief!

  • @Miz_Liz is right. The chiropractor will change your life. I had to go twice a week but the difference was unbelievable. I have a touch of scoliosis, so my back was always hurting and sleeping on my left side was killing my hips. I'd wake up and get out of bed waddling like an old man. Another thing that gave me some relief was doing "cat cows." My midwife suggested it and when I tried it on the floor, it instantly took the weight off my lower back and opened it up. It felt so much better. If you have never done them before, there are some tutorials on Google but you basically get in a table top position on your hands and knees and curl your spine inwards (towards the floor) and outwards (towards the ceiling). Hope you find some relief :(
