Saving Money

What are your favorite tricks for saving money on diapers, wipes and other baby necesseties?

Re: Saving Money

  • We have a diaper, formula, wipe fund. It's the same idea as a going out spending fund or shoe shopping fund ;) we have a little box in the babies room and put our loose bills and change in it. We also have another savings account in the bank for baby.
  • Loading the player...
  • coupons.com has tons of diaper coupons, and you could use them with store deals to save even more money.  I never paid more than $5 for a pack of diapers with my coupons.

Never buy at regular price. Those things are on sale often enough that we would just stock up when on sale and always had coupons too (pampers has coupons once a month in the Sunday paper). We also shop at Target a lot and somehow got on their coupon list because we get a booklet of baby coupons every month or so and you can stack store coupons and manufacturer coupons along with sales. We also use cartwheel (phone app) at Target, they often have discounts on diapers, wipes, baby food, desitin, etc. We also have a membership to Sam's and bought DD diapers and formula there if we couldn't find stuff on sale when we needed it.
  • We use Amazon Prime's Amazon Mom service. Give you a discount on wipes/diapers/etc. and ships them directly to your house! Otherwise, I do the same as @Bugs1718 at Target...the Cartwheel app makes it super easy to find deals and we stock up when there's a good one.

  • go cloth for dipes and wipes- the amount you'll save over time is super impressive

(ps- I'm all for disposables- but my hubs wants to try this- can't beat the savings if that's what your bottom line is)

  • If you know anyone with a Sam's club account go with them to the store or have them pick some up for you..they are way cheaper there!
  • We use cloth diapers to save money and I use the Walmart brand of wipes they tend to be cheaper. No reason to use name brand plus I find them to be thicker than a lot of other brands.

Other than that I don't know of any reoccuring costs besides clothes which I wait for sales and go through clearance.

  • Cloth diapers & wipes!  EBFing.

I also buy almost all my kids' clothes second hand or happily accept hand-me-downs.
  • I just got a bunch of registery completion coupons from Target and I have the registry app on my phone. The other day when I was shopping I scanned all the baby stuff onto the app and they let me take 15% off of everything I had added that day. I also have cartwheel and the red debit card. About 3 months into the pregnancy we started buying $25 gift cards every time we went to target or the grocery store. Who notices $25 extra at the store anyway and we have a stack of gift cards waiting for baby.
  • We used Amazon prim for newborn diapers and wipes, then cloth diapers once he was big enough. Breast feeding is seriously the biggest money saver though!

It's never too early to take advantage of a good sale! I'm waiting because next week in the supermarket close to my house they're having a 3*2 offer and in getting 3 packs of each size.
