Music in utero

Hey Mommies.  I'm at the 16 week mark and baby can hear now! (potentially)  I plan to start doing the cliched head phones on the belly bit soon and was wondering if you had any music that you thought would be especially good for that.

I plan to do a little bit of everything since my family and I have fairly eclectic taste.  Pop music and memes for the 9yr old, Lindsey Stirling and 2 Cellos for the 10yr old, techno/classic rock for the bf, and country/bluegrass/hipster for me.  Any particular suggestions for Sprout?

@VexyMommy I'm in love with Ludovico Einaudi's stuff- a classical pianist. I used to play it really loudly when I was pregnant with my first (not directly to my belly, just loudly in a room and I'd lie down and nap or relax). I ended up having a scheduled section and asked if they could play it in there too. Then when he was a newborn he would ALWAYS respond when it was on! It would calm him if he was fussy and when he got bigger it made him smile. It was really sweet to see!

Never done the headphones, but I love the idea that the baby can hear.  I went to a chamber music concert this past weekend and there was a really stirring Dvorak piece, when it was really loud it was nice to imagine that the LO was listening too (although probably way to far away in reality).  As I type, my toddler is performing a beautiful cowbell (who gave him that!?) concerto right next to my belly.  You're welcome baby!
  • I'm a music teacher. Try getting lots of classical music in to sooth baby. Studies show that soothing classical music (like most of Chopin's nocturnes) played in utero will help calm the baby once he/she is out. Also, the headphones on the belly is cute and go for it if you want, but it's also not necessary. The sound in utero isn't as clear, but it's just as loud as what we hear out here!
  • A slow tempo and predictability within a piece ( no sudden speed or volume changes, etc) can be soothing in a variety of styles. In utero, babies have been shown to show a change in heart rate for up to an hour after hearing songs with certain qualities. I love that you are using music to help your LO connect with other family members already!
