How/where does your baby sleep best?

I'm just curious...how does your baby sleep (a certain position besides flat on their back) and where? Mine started off sleeping peacefully in a bassinet, but in the past month, won't sleep in there but sleeps through the night in his swing (on low). The doctor said there's no harm in it for now, and that I also don't need to wake him up to eat now, he can feed on demand. What works best for your babies? Do people (family members or friends) ever question you about your baby's sleeping habits or places? Please share with me as I'm a new mom and feel like I'm doing what is most comfortable for the baby and he gets the most restful sleep that way.

My babies have all slept on their tummies. (I'm sure someone will cring at that) and in their bassinet or crib. They never will sleep on their back no matter how I try. The other way my current baby sleeps is on my chest on his tummy. He will sleep for hours like that. Other than that... He wouldn't sleep anywhere else no matter how I tried .. At least not without lots and lots of screaming.

I do what I feel comfortable with and what seems comfortable for the baby. As long as it's not hurting their growth physically in the long run.

I personally did always avoid swings though. I was worried about developing bad habits . Just a personal decision

  • I lay mine on her back in her bassinet but she moves around and sleeps on her side facing a different way then the way I laid her down. She usually will position herself to the way she wants to lay.

All my babys sleeped on their back in a crib at night. during the day they would sleep on their belly. But my LO sleeps in bed with me half the night. I just love hugging up with her. :D
  • My son is 10weeks old now and at first we had him falling asleep laying on his belly on my chest and then we would lay him on his back in the bassinet , after awhile he got angry any time we laid him down so then we still let him fall asleep the same way but then I would but him in his boppy pillow next to my pillows in the bed against the wall so he couldn't fall off and I couldn't roll over on him (even though I am a very light sleeper and wake up anytime he moves an inch) but just recently we have started giving him a bath anywhere between 8:30-9:30 then a bottle at 10pm and rocking him till he is asleep and I'll hold him for a bit to make sure he is really out and then I'll lay him on his back in the center of his crib and he sleeps from 10:30-7am give or take an hour. We use the bedtime body wash and lotion my Johnson and Johnson and put him in a cozy sleeper!

I do the same routine! Bath time/baby massage between 8:30-9:30, bottle around 10:00, then usually asleep from 10:30-11:00 to about 7:00. Except I don't use the bedtime wash because it made him break out.

  • At night my 9 week old baby girl will sleep in her crib on her back. During the day, she would take naps in a cradle that we had in our living room, but now she is getting too big for that. She will usually take naps in her swing or bouncer now.
  • My baby is 11 weeks and went through phases already. First month slept in bassinet she got bored and angry after I let her nap on boppy during the day and slept on that in bed with me. After a few weeks of doing that i got her back reaclimated to the bassinet at least at night. She sleeps from about 1030 to 7 as well wakes up for one feeding and changing. During the day I try to let her get some tummy time as long as I monitor. Baths are truly relaxing for baby and a little cereal in bottle doesn't hurt either
