DH and I went on a long bike ride on a  Washington Crossing  trail in Pennsylvania (12 miles!) and then stopped for lunch at a really cute Greek restaurant.  We did a historical tour and saw a brief reenactment of George Washington crossing the Delaware river.   The weather was outstanding.   However DH's bum knee froze up started hurting while we were sitting there, so I made him stay at the restaurant and rode back on my own to get the car.   Surprisingly I really enjoyed riding the trail alone, which I never do.... I could ride faster and felt free and peaceful.

I definitely want to go back sometime soon.

On the weight loss front, it appears that I've gained back three pounds.  I'm frustrated because I'm working my ass off with no results.  It's like my metabolism flushed down the toilet after all of  these treatments.   I'm going to start researching to see if my medicated cycles are really to blame or if there is something else going on.

I'm just going to say that I went to a fabulous wedding for Memorial Day weekend, but there was an hour and a half gap between the ceremony and reception (shitty etiquette) and then only ONE HOUR of open bar during cocktail hour before it (shittier etiquette) so I had 9 cocktails in 2.5 hours and am still working out the hangover today. Took a 5 mile run that helped, but I can still feel the booze. Probably undid a solid month of fertility dieting with 3 hours of intense drinking :)

I'm still just hanging out for CD1 so we can get our blood work done and hopefully cycle in July or August. I'm not temping/charting, but I'll likely ovulate in the next 7-8 days, so we're going to up the sex game this week because there's always a chance we'll catch a lucky egg.

  • The weekend was spent at home. The DH and I enjoyed some quiet time together we made a bbq for 2 and did some work around the house. We rested and I really tried to keep my positive vibes up.
I have an ultrasound at the end of this week, and we are riding the 2ww train. FX this is the cycle!

  • @GoldenKeys thanks for starting, your weekend sounds amazing. @jnissa fingers crossed you catch your lucky egg or that CD1 comes quick, I absolutely love weddings.

My doctor (internal medicine specialist) just benched me. Despite having a prefect level of TSH, my thyroid levels are super low. Symptom wise I'm exhausted and my reflexes are delayed so I know I am hypothyroid right now (I've spent the last 12 years being hyperthyroid so this is a whole new set of challenges/ symptoms).

Until then I plan on "getting healthy". For me, that means gaining weight (an almost impossible task for me unless I spend at least an hour at the gym). I find the, "it must be nice" comments from people IRL hurtful as the reason I am so underweight (frequent resection of my bowels/abdominal surgery and uncontrolled thyroid) is the reason why getting pregnant is so hard and is *possibly* the reason why staying pregnant may be a problem.

Sorry for the rant, being benched is hard on me emotionally, especially since I was given no time frame (just a we will do your bloodwork in a couple of months and then reevaluate) . I am typically a very optimistic person

Question of the Week: What did you do for Memorial Weekend?

Hehe i'm Canadian so our holiday was last weekend. I worked this weekend but will be off later on this week (woo!)
  • @chaconvanessa sorry I missed you , sending positive vibes to you
  • 1.  How long have you been TTC? Close to 9 months

    2.  What is your diagnosis? Not ovulating

    3.  What is your current treatment plan? Progesterone to induce period , then ovulation drug and trigger shot.(starting progesterone this week for first time)

Our Memorial Day weekend was rainy and pretty laid back. We had to deal with some flooding at my in-laws which was no fun.

We are moving on to a new cycle. Fingers crossed #20 is it... I'm trying to be optimistic but today (CD1) I'm feeling a little angry and heartbroken. We are upping my Femara to 7.5 mg and SO wants to try 1 more TI cycle before we go to IUI. With our schedules this month it makes sense, but I wonder if IUI would be better for us with his slightly low motility.

    Hello (^v^)

I am new here, so it is nice to meet you all.

Me and my husband have been TTC for 3 1/2 years. I was diagnosed with mild PCOS and also Hypothyroidism. My husband had low sperm count and motility.

I am currently on the BCP and when this cycle is done we will be doing a modified IVF cycle. Basically just means a lower does of meds (will be taking metformin), to reduce the risk of OHSS, I am at increased risk because I have a higher than average ammount of follicles (14-15).

I am currently also taking syntroid for the hypothyroidism.

I have an appointment for an sonogram this thursday.

That is about it for now. I am pretty exited for the IVF, our RE sais we have about 50% chance of getting pregnant. So I am really hoping it works out!

I do not celebrate memorial weekend, I am Canadian. But me and my husband went shopping, we had bubble tea. And friends from my home town came to visit and we went to eat at a nice restaurant on the 51st floor downtown Toronto. It has a very pretty view.

  • lifeislove87   I am so sorry that you've been benched :-(  .  I hope that you're able to gain the weight that you need and get your thyroid levels where they need to be very soon.   In the meantime, let us cheer you up!    It's always a good time to get healthy, so good luck with your plan!  I know that it's hard to believe right now but 3 months go by really fast...

Me and my DH got stuff done around the house got the pool ready and hung out with family at are summer camp.

Glad to see everyone had such great weekends!

Finished my first cycle waiting on blood work and to take a test. Praying for a BFP, but not getting my hopes up.

Hope everyone has a great week! And good luck!
  • Also canadian so holiday weekend was last weekend... However as a nurse I worked both weekends anyway.

On the fertility side: going in for another monitoring u/s in the am. I had a 21 or 23mm follicle this morning (just finished nights so I can't remember exactly) and they wanted to give me one more day to thicken my lining before I will probably be triggered and go for IUI Thursday. This will be our first IUI so we are optimistic. I'm feeling good about it.

  • Another Canadian, but we did go isit family in Quebec and my husband did the Spartan Race...that was a little bitter sweet as I didn't register to do it too as we were hoping I'd be pregnant by now. Friends are now pressuring me for next year...ugh!

Still benched, but experiencing some weird symptoms, and not sure how that's related tonthis being my first non medicated cycle in a few months. CD19 (I typically ovulate around CD12), spotting increasing over the past few days, and some pinching around the right ovary (which is the one that would have ovulated this month, even on meds, I always alternated and had all follies on the same ovary). So not sure if I'm getting an early period because I'm not on progesterone, or whether by some kind of crazy luck this might be implantation (and then should I take progesterone again?!). Contacted my nurse, we'll see what she says.

    Currently on cycle 12

Had my yearly ob appt today

a few months back i had brown nipple discharge. He said not normal and ttc or not i need my prolactin levels checked and a breast sonogram and possibly a mammogram (even though i am not 35 yet).

As far as ttc, there are no re's that he recommends anywhere near here. Closest is a few hr drive otherwise its dallas or houston :/ he CAN do an sa for dh and that Should be our first step before traveling that far for an re.

I asked about scar tissue and he said when he took out the mirena he looked at my lining and it all looked ok so he wasnt concerned about it having caused scar tissue.

So right now its checking out my nipple discharge issues.

    My Ovulation Chart
  • @dmsmth I've also had discharge as well. I attributed it to hormone imbalance (high prolactin from my thyroid) or poly cystic breasts (dx as a teen). Perhaps I should also ask about that ..

@lifeislove87 I had discharge as a teen as well.  Never diagnosed (or told about a diagnosis) other than everything was normal.  The brown discharge wound up going away.  and have not had it since.  can't hurt to ask your dr though.  I am hoping its nothing serious!  my thyroid was tested in Dec and it was normal.
