HELP! Burning sage / Smudging house

in June 2015 Moms
I'm 35 weeks, and just smudged my house before looking to see if it is okay... Well I have read to not do when pregnant bc it can cause miscarrages or induce labor...
I didn't use a lot and no smoke /CO detectors went off.
Kinda paranoid now , any one else do it and ok??!? :-SS :-SS

    I don't know what it means to "smudge" your house, but if you're concerned you should call your doctor. Good luck.

    You'll be fine. We frequently use sage at work for smudging purposes and I'm ok! I'd say if you're concerned about the smoke, open up some windows.

    Buring sage to help rid home of negative energy... Feels like we have had some bad luck lately and trying to get it out of here before baby gets here ...

    Oh gotcha ... Yeah just get some fresh air.... I baked a bunch of sage leaves to save for the purpose of burning them (they are still in a jar so now I know to wait a while before burning). Thanks!

    I'm guessing the big warning is in breathing in smoke?? Or is it particularly Sage ?

    Well, I don't see how breathing in smoke alone (some women continue to smoke thru pregnancy, even) can cause a miscarriage (unless we are talking like - caught in a house fire amount of smoke), so it may be something related to the Sage. I honestly don't think it would be a big deal (I've smudged a house before, it's not like it really gets that smoky, as the smoke doesn't really hang around after you move on. not like cigarette smoke does, anyway) but I agree that if it really concerns you, call your drs office. I'm sure you probably had a window open when doing it since you'd want air flow anyway to help the smoke to move around.

    Oh yes- my husband didn't even know I did it- you couldn't even smell it when he got home. The stress is probably causing more negative energy than anything ...

    Isn't it the sage itself that is harmful? It was actually on my list of what not to eat in early pregnancy.
