Sad and confused

I went to the ER Friday night for bleeding. I was 6 wks 2 days. They did an ultrasound and found the baby which was measuring at 6 wks 2 days and had a heartbeat of 100 bpm. They put me on bed rest over the weekend. The bleeding stopped within 12 hours of starting. Today I went to my ob/gyn and he couldn't find the baby or a heartbeat. He said he could see the gestational sac but it was empty. I was given a script for pain killers and told to expect to miscarry within a couple days to maybe a week. I just don't understand what happened .... Has anyone had anything similar happen?

    I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a somewhat similar experience. I was pregnant with twins. Went to the ER last Sunday for severe bleeding. They found one baby measuring at 6w6d with a 100bpm heartbeat. By Thursday that baby no longer had a heartbeat. I was given medication to induce the second miscarriage. Miscarriages are devastating enough, but I think it's even more hurtful to know there was a heartbeat there just a few days ago. I'm still very sad and confused as well.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I went through something slightly similar.   I was 5W6D.  Before I could even get to the U/S, I started to bleed bright red the Sunday before.   They did an ultrasound and found nothing.

    Big hugs to you both.  I understand the hurt and disappointment you're feeling.
