Need help! Positive HPT 4 weeks after D&C

Need your thoughts on this...

I had a D&C almost 4 weeks ago. I was 10 weeks and the baby stopped developing at 7. I stopped bleeding 2 weeks after the procedure. I have not gotten my period.
Hubby and I had sex 10 days ago. I took a HPT today because I just had this instinct to take it. It's positive.

My question is..do you think I'm actually pregnant, or do you think I still have hormones leftover from the initial pregnancy??

My Dr. didn't do blood tests after the procedure and I have not taken any HPT other than this one. The line is not super dark, but if I'm pregnant it wouldn't be because it's so early. And if its remaining hormones from the miscarriage it probably wouldn't be either.

I'm SO stressed about this!! Need some advice on how to move forward.

    No concrete advice here, just my experience. I had a d&c 2.5 weeks ago, was 12w6d, baby stopped growing at 9w6d. My doctor also doesn't do followup blood work. I took a hpt 4 days after d&c and got a faint positive, exactly one week after d&c hpt was negative. I stopped bleeding 2 weeks after d&c which is when OPK said I was ovulating. So, it is entirely possible to be a new pregnancy but equally possible to be leftover hcg. Only sure way to find out is go to your doctor. If I is a new pregnancy, congrats!! If not, I pray it isn't retained tissue and that your body is just responding more sluggish than you probably want. Keep us posted!

    Thank you for sharing your experience, I appreciate it. My gut says new pregnancy based on what I've read but obviously it could go either way.

    Until you can meet with your doctor to keep your mind from wondering, maybe you can pick up one of those tests that say how many weeks pregnant you are. I have never bought one, so idk if they base the results off hcg or something else.

    I would take another in a few days and if it progresses, then its most likely a new pregnancy. I had a d&c 4/24 and didn't get my levels tested down, but I did take a hpt every week and it was positive for about 15 days. I ovulated on cd 28 after the d&c. Hoping in 5 days I get a positive too.

    Exact situation happened to me. I had a d&c at 10 weeks, twins stopped growing around 7 weeks. I had a positive pregnancy test at four weeks, so I went in for bloodwork. My levels were still up from the previous pregnancy, I'm 8 weeks post d&c now ms still waiting for a period but at least my levels are finally down. Go on and get bloodwork to make sure.

    How confusing... I didn't have a D&C but I miscarried naturally about 2 weeks ago. When I was pregnant I didn't miscarry until 9weeks but the baby was around 7 weeks when it stopped developing i think. When I was pregnant the last test I had on my Levels I was around 58,000 at 6 weeks. After I miscarried they tested them again and I have to go in every Wednesday to have them tested until they're negative again. Anyways, the Dr. Told me no sex until my levels were back to being negative because if I did get pregnant again they wouldn't know how to track it, she said that she thought it would take anywhere from 3-4 weeks for my levels to be negative again. My latest blood test was last Wednesday and they were 700's. I don't know if any of this info helps you at all. Congrats if you are pregnant though! :)

    Ugg. So confusing. I am in the same position. I had a Mc 5w2d ago. I was around 11 weeks. Baby's heart stopped around 7 weeks. I only bleed for 3 day. We did a us to make sure it was complete....and it was. I took a hpt yesterday because I am still waiting for my cycle and I'm impatient. I was shocked it was positive. Then I took one with week estimater. It also was pos. And said 1-2 weeks...meaning I would be 4-5 weeks I have no idea if this is hcg levels from pregancy or a new one. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster!!!!

    Thank you all for your advice. I had my levels tested today. They are at a 10 right now which doesn't give me much of an answer because it could be a new pregnancy or residual from the miscarriage.
    I will take another in 48 hours and if it increases we'll know!
    This whole experience makes me wish I had been getting tested each week after the procedure. It wasn't something the Dr. offered so I didn't realize how helpful it would be.

    They called me back to say my hcg is at 76 and that's high for having a mc 6 weeks ago. Ughhh
    I only had a 1 day period....when I was pregnant I had a 1 day period also.
