So... after almost 6 years of my Petunia Picklebottom Glazed Boxy diaper bag, I've moved on... 6 years... it was time... It's going into hubby's car for emergencies

I ordered a ju-ju-be BFF diaper bag from Amazon (magic merlot pattern) 25% off I'm really proud of myself for the deal I got on it I'm just wishing I knew ju-ju-be first go around...

Anyway... what are you guys looking at/planning to get/have already purchased and packed... Don't forget the diapers - I did! With my first for our first trip to the pediatrician... OOPS

I've been looking at the Carter diaper bags. They are really cute and you can get some good deals on them. I haven't picked a specific one yet, so I am interested in seeing what other ladies are getting.

Seriously! My bag was fully packed, except for diapers! TG we were at the pediatrician who was SO prepared for newbie parents I love to tell new parents that story, because it just shows that no matter what, we mess up, but there's always someone there to catch us

I just got this beautiful Steve Madden diaper bag today at Burlington Coat Factory, comes with attached small bag and changing pad. Originally $140 and got it for $49! I thought since I was having a boy that I couldn't have a cute bag, but when I saw this I got so excited!

PPB bags are soooo cute but I can't afford those. I just have a Skip Hop that I've had for a few years. It's grey with big grey dots (two shades of grey so there's contrast).

I had a skip hop that I liked with my first but one of the pockets ripped and the zipper broke after about a year. I went with a Ju Ju Be BFF this time too! Don't remember the name of the pattern, Queen something. I used it on a zoo field trip with DS's preschool a couple of weeks ago. I love it!!!

I'm a FTM so forgive me if this is the dumbest question ever, but is there a big difference between a diaper bag back pack and just a regular back pack? I want a regular diaper bag for myself, but for my SO a back pack one would be best and I wanted to get him a 49er bag and I'm just not finding 49er back pack diaper bags. I was thinking I may just get him a regular back pack and call it a diaper bag...

@excited2bmommy09 The diaper bag backpacks usually come with changing pads and have more pockets, even insulated pockets sometimes but I'm sure a normal backpack would work just as well, especially for your SO. Any time my DH took our DS on his own he used a normal backpack.

No such things as a dumb question, until it is a dumb one

Not dumb at all sweetie! Diaper backpacks will usually have slots for diapers, wipes, bottles & the like. I got my new one because I like how it opens and how it's washable.

Rhill30 tend to over pack! But with an infant - I never think you can overpack...

And with your SO - will he be using it A LOT or infrequently, that might mean it doesn't matter what type of bag he has...

Thank you ladies that is helpful! Sounds like maybe I should go with an actual diaper bag back pack and maybe just sew on a 49er patch lol. He is an organization freak when it comes to stuff like this and a major over packer so he would probably be into the different pockets and stuff. Thanks again! Me too! With my first I just got this tote bag type thing from Target. Kind of smallish, I'm not a big on having a lot of stuff, just diapers, wipes, clean clothes. I used it for #2 too but it now has a stain and a rip and I was thinking of getting a Carter's one too. I've got 3 babies now, so a lot more stuff to bring when we go out.

I ordered the Rebecca Minkoff knocked up bag. I wanted something stylish and functional and this is completely my style. It's on the pricier side, but had great reviews. Im going to test it to make sure it's functional and if not go back the drawing board.

I want a ju ju bee BFF bag but am trying to be pashient and see if I can't score a slightly used one:)
They've had several for sale on the local baby swap I'm on in the past little while but I've missed them. Also these bags really hold their value and I am having a hard time forking over that much for a used bag.

With DD1 I just used a Vera Bradley tote bag. I have two different ones this time to pick from - my sister scours their website for clearance sales and bought me a black and chocolate print right after DD1 was born (so 4 years ago) and a floral print done in brown, orange, and cream. She has hung on to these bags all this time to give me "just in case" we had a boy. Lol! But I will use them, they are just the right size and very practical!!

I love shoes and bags, and i wanted something really stylish to carry around. TwelveLittle and Tim & Leslie have great looking bags and love the Vera Bradleys. Well, after talking to other moms and being that I am an over packer, oh, and the amount of time i wasted looking into one....I went with this surfer backpack. It has a big roomy insulated pocket to hold snacks and bottles and definitely big enough to carry everything I will need. Not the most fashionable, but i guess it will do for our outings.

This is baby #4 for me and I've gone through a few diaper bags and by far my favorite has been the $25 skip hop bag I got on clearance at target. I had a ju ju be with #1 and that thing is freaking heavy! Even completely empty, because of the material, they are already kinda heavy plus add in a bunch of kid stuff. I didn't realize how heavy it was until picking up a friend's generic Carter bag and seeing how light it was with the same amount of stuff in it. PPB bags are similar in being kinda heavy. I had a Vera Bradley one next and liked it but felt it got nasty and dirty and faded kinda fast.

After 3 kids close. together I've realized I don't like having too many pockets, too many places to have to rummage through to find what you need. Just give me a larger empty pocket, 2 smaller pockets on the front and side pockets for bottles/sippys and I'm good.

I used the bag for a recent trip and it was great! We had a baby shower over the holiday and got the Skip Hop Changing Station (https://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-Changing-Station-Chevron/dp/B00B7XUVOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432744226&sr=8-1&keywords=skip+hop+diaper+changing+kit). So I think I'll just use the changing station with this bag. I'm using the bag for work now and I just need to decide if I should get a second bag or use the one I'm using now for the diaper bag.

My Mom bought me a Vera Bradley diaper bag as a Congrats-on-your-pregnancy! gift. I LOVE it. It looks more like a giant purse, and I've been using at work when I need a bag big enough for a change of clothes (I wear a uniform at work) right away afterwards. It's waterproof on the inside, HUGE, and came with it's own changing pad for baby.

I added a book bag style bag onto my registry for DH, that looks much more masculine and plays on his military background. When I pointed it out to him, he loved it. It even has it's own kitschy patches on it about being a Dad.

I just bought a Ju Je Be too! I got the Be Prepared in the First Lady print. I love it! It's huge. This is #3 for us and we cloth diaper, so I need the room.
I totally forgot diapers at the first pedi visit for my second too. Luckily they keep some there, but I was pretty embarrassed.

My previous diaper bag was a J.J. Cole system 180. I loved it, but after 3 years it was looking kind of ragged. I ordered a Built NY GoGo Diaper Tote on amazon this time around (in black dot) from amazon and got it for a steal - $30 and it's usually $120. They were running a sale.

I love it too - it's made of neoprene (think scuba suit material) and I love the simple interior. The stroller clips on it rock (the J.J. cole had clips, but they were detachable and I ended up losing them and they were a hassle to put on. These are attached to the bag and are a simple clip.) It's big enough to hold everything I need, though with a 4 and 2 year old right now I don't need much (though I do cloth diaper, so that makes it a little bulkier). I also love that I can have either shoulder or cross body straps.

I highly recommend it and I don't think I'll ever purchase another type of diaper bag. (my only complaint is the print I got has a fuschia interior and this baby is a boy. But I have two girls now so I can use it as an excuse (: )

My husband and I were having a hard time picking a diaper bag because he is going to have to use it too. He really wanted a book bag but I wanted a cute one that was more girly. A friend of ours gave us a diaper bag book bag and I LOVE it! All the compartments are great and they said they ended up using only that until their baby was bigger.
