Just started vomiting w/ no weight gain

Fairly new here. I have been reading for a while, but haven't posted much. I'm an older mom 14 weeks today. I just started vomiting at night and I still haven't gained any weight. I'm getting concerned and wondered if anyone else has experienced their morning/night sickness getting worse. I hate food....it is my nemesis! I am so ready to eat again and enjoy it. I'm scared for my little one. Afraid he isn't getting enough nutrients.

  • I haven't gained any either. That's pretty common.

I find I get sick more at night too. If I don't eat enough during the day I get sick or if I eat too much I feel bad.

If you are keeping down some meals and drinking enough your baby is fine. You don't need a whole lot of extra calories right now.

  • I wouldn't worry. I had HG- and I lost a stone. I had three weeks of feeling better and now I throw up when I wake up and can't eat in the evenings anymore or I'm sick. I've lost a total of 10 pounds now but my midwife said not to worry. Xx
  • I lost weight with my first and vomited all the time.  Both my daughter and I turned out healthy.  If it's recently started getting worse at night it might be acid induced.  Try tums or other ant acids and see if that helps.

No worries, I'm sixteen weeks ago down thirty pounds from morning sickness. The doctor says that the baby will get everything it needs from me and that I'm basically the only one paying the price for the morning sickness. Your baby should be fine.
  • I'm 13 weeks and also down about 10 pounds. My doc said to try and drink enough fluids but not to worry about nutrition or weight loss right now. He said just eat whatever sounds good at the moment don't worry about making sure you get all your fruits and veggies or anything like that. I'm sure you're fine, it's still early on and baby doesn't need a ton of extra calories right now. Take care of yourself mama!
