Skin changes...

I'm almost 31wks pregnant and with the weather warming up I've been outside with my LOs. I've recently noticed my freckles and moles seem darker and larger and there is one suspicious looking freckle right on my belly that I've never noticed before but now can't help but obsess over. I'm probably going to make an appt with a dermo just incense. But I've read pregnancy can change your pigment, is this even something I should be worrying about?

Re: Skin changes...

  • No I read its completely normal to get more freckles, moles or skin tags during pregnancy. I have had a bunch of moles and freckles pop up since becoming pregnant. Im going to have to get 2 of them removed after baby arrives.

  • I had quite a few skin tags pop up and moles get bigger and darker. The skin tag are right where my underwire hits and are very itchy. Dr says it's completely normal esp if you are prone to freckles/miles.I'm so looking forward to getting them all removed after baby is born.
  • The freckles on my nose are more apparent but it's also from being in the sun.
  • Skin tags keep popping up everywhere. I'm glad to know that it is normal during pregnancy and it will (hopefully) stop after I have the baby. I have always had moles and freckles but its the skin tags that make me feel self conscious :-S

I have a ton of cellulite that was never there before. I can only hope that it goes away after the baby is born.
  • I have had a few new freckles pop up on my stomach that my dr. And derm were not concerned about as long as they looked "normal." I have had 2 moles removed this pregnancy. 1 was an atypical mole that needed more removal then was done the first time just incase ( had this before pregnancy). The other was a mole that I thought had changed, still small but alarmed me. The derm was not overly concened and would have been fine with " just keeping an eye on it" but I had it removed. I was told there is no harm in having them removed while pregnant. With my fair skin and sun history If I'm concerned I have it removed. For peace of mind if nothing else. But, yes pregnancy can cause mole changes.
