Changing my toddler's room?

So my son will be a little over 2 and a half when new baby comes. My dilemma is do I keep him in his room (which is the biggest room) and make another room a nursery or do I save myself from buying new nursery furniture and move him down the hall and make it into an awesome "choo choo" room? What are you ladies doing with the older sibling rooms? I don't want him to feel displaced by new baby...

Re: Changing my toddler's room?

  • Following. My son will be 2 when the baby comes but we are moving in June so our dilemma is what to do about transitioning him out of the crib as the new baby will need it and my husband doesn't want to set it up twice but I don't want him to have to transition rooms twice! Good luck! I would probably move him but do it sooner rather than later so he is in his new room well before the baby gets here.

I would just make the one change and put him in the big boy/toddler bed at the time you move.  With that many changes, maybe try to keep the room decor mostly the same since he's only about 18mo now and it might help him with continuity.
