Hello moms, I am looking for a high quality video/wifi monitor system.. So that we can use our smart phones to check in on baby when either of us is out. Or while my hubby works, he can interact with us via audio/video. Must have feature for us.
There are SO many brands and models within each brand, it is seriously a headache to try and pick between them all. I have done research on the ones ive found interesting, but always find negative things like the batteries dont last in the monitor, or they overheat, poor reception, etc.
I have been eying the Motorola line.
Does anyone have experience with these type of monitors in particular? Any suggestions? Bad experiences with certain brands I should avoid?
Thanks in advance if anyone replies.
Re: Baby Monitors? Advice Appreciated
brand.
@Elysia21 I've been trying to find information on this as well. Unfortunately, I'm just as lost as you are. However, our neighbor was the first one to tell us about the feature with using smartphones and everything. The next time we see him we'll as and I'm report back.
It hooks to wifi, and isn't that expensive compared to some actual baby monitors.

I also agree with the first poster about reviews. There will always be positive and negative reviews. Pay close attention to the negative ones because a lot of times what others are complaining about are things that wouldn't bother you nearly as much.
I just bought a Dropcam
Pro ($250) to test out.
Pro: the best video quality (day and night) by far. Wide viewing angle so you don't have to pan/tilt. Super easy to connect to from web and phone.
Cons: because the video is only accessible via web or phone, it's great for your DH but I can imagine it's annoying at night when you have to wake up to check baby and unlock your phone, open app, etc. Also, it's not constantly on as a result,
so you get notified of movement, but it's just a typical phone notification. Not sure now traditional baby monitors work but a small phone notification doesn't seem sufficient if I'm not paying attention to my phone. Also gets very hot.
Gonna try out a few others, including Motorola and Samsung.
Anyone else have thoughts on dropcam?
