Random vomiting?

My first trimester I had constant nausea but never really threw up unless I had a migraine. I've been pretty good since hitting 12weeks, but today I woke up and ate breakfast and mid-bite had the urge to vomit. My bathroom is maybe 20 feet away and I didn't make it there in time and puked on the floor. Then I made it to the bathroom for the rest of my food to come up. After throwing up I felt fine, even like I could eat after. I didn't feel nauseous before I felt the urge to vomit. Has anyone else had a situation like this? It was new to me!

Re: Random vomiting?

  • Could it be your prenatal vitamins? Just this last week the ones I had been taking (over the counter) made me sick Monday and Tuesday. Thankfully I went for my 20 weeks check up on Wednesday and was able to switch vitamins and have been perfect ever since.

  • I also had nausea the first trimester with only throwing up stomach acid. Twice in the last week I have eaten and then had actual throw up. I am not quite sure what it was those times because both times I was eating something completely different.
  • That is so weird...this happened to me this morning.  I ate my breakfast and just threw it all up, I never had any morning sickness and this is the first time I have.  I have my 20 week appointment on Wednesday.  Maybe i will mention it to my doctor

  • I've had the same thing. I threw up once before I hit 12 weeks then I was fine but within the last 2 weeks I have puked twice more (one time was in the afternoon and the other was at night) and both times it was so random and it was a while after I ate something and it came sudden and I waited a minute or two to see if it would pass but I had to run to the bathroom :/ weird

Happens about once a week for me and it's not clear why. There's no connection I've found between the time of day, type of food or prenatal pill.
Only common factor is that it's happened when I've been pretty hungry and then ate. But, there are plenty of times when I get to that same level of hunger and am able to eat without issue.
    So confusing!!!
  • So weird! It's good to know I'm not the only one. I don't think it has to do with my prenatals because I take them at night and this was in the morning. It was just so random especially since I had to nausea. It's only happened once so if it keeps happening I'll definitely bring it up to my doctor. Thanks ladies!
  • This is the only way I have thrown up my whole pregnancy! Out of nowhere! And same thing, I have puked mid meal and then proceeded to finish my meal! I'll take it over the constant nausea any day!

  • Happened to me on Sunday. It may have been my prenatals but I take the gummy ones and havent had a problem before then or since. Poured a bowl of cereal and a cup of tea and went to my back porch, before i could sit down i was throwing up in my yard. Haven't done that since i was 21 ;) felt just fine after, it was really weird.
  • I have had a few random pukes too. No nausea beforehand. It's very weird. I'm not nauseous anymore (thank goodness) but I will puke/dry heave in the morning still when I brush my teeth, if I brush my tongue too far back. Ha ha it's so lame.
  • Sounds like indigestion to me.

I had very little nausea in the first trimester. I threw up at 11 weeks in the am and 14 weeks in the evening. Both times I think I ate something that didn't agree with baby. Then this am I was grabbing a shirt out of my closet and out of no where almost threw up in my closet. Thankfully I was able to avoid it. I'm 21 weeks tomorrow. If this is all the sickness I get in the pregnancy I'll go with it, but just like you totally random and out of no where.
