High-Risk Pregnancy

Seeing a neurologist?

Hi ladies. I'm 35 weeks and yesterday at work I lost partial vision in 1 eye. My immediate thought was sudden onset of pre-e, especially since I'm already at a higher risk for it this time. I went to my doctor and my BP was fine and no protein in my urine. The nurse said she thinks I had an aura without a migraine and wants me to see a neurologist to rule out a blood clotting problem. I'm not sure what to expect. Never had this problem with my other pregnancy. Has anyone else been through this? I'm wondering what they'll test and how they'll do it. Thanks!

Bumping this. I had my neurology appointment yesterday and she said everything looks good. They will hold off an mri until after I delivered but wanted to do a sono of my carotid artery next week. If I had another episode she would do the mri sooner but didn't think it would be likely. Well, I had another episode this morning. Went to L&D and they tested my blood and urine and blood pressure and it's still not pointing to preeclampsia. My OB called the neurologist and they want me to have an mri today or tomorrow. Here's to hoping it's nothing!
