I'm about to make homemade fudge with my kids, then get dolled up for maternity pics! We're going to the battle grounds later where they'll have reenactments. Yay for a 3 day weekend too!
Family get together on Sunday. The whole family gets to meet my grandma's sister whom we've never met and my grandma hasn't seen in 45 years. Should be interesting! Then just spending lots of time with DH who also has a long weekend.
I am buying furniture for our new house this morning.... Then I I am working tonight and the next two days.
Memorial Day is a special day for my family as my cousin was killed in Afghanistan three years ago. Please while we all enjoy the sunshine and three day weekend don't forget what Monday is truly about. Remembering those who gave eveything for the freedoms we get to enjoy on a daily basis.

Well said. So sorry for the loss of your cousin. I truly appreciate the sacrifice he and our other brothers and sisters have made for our freedom. May he RIP.
@Saratiff I agree! We all need to remember what this day is for. We sat our kids down to explain the significance. I'm so sorry for the loss of your cousin!
Well right now we are hanging out watching radar to see if we are going to end up in the storm shelter again night. Everything around here is flooded pretty good, and we will likely be doing the same thing tomorrow. Yay. No idea what we will do on actual Memorial Day. I think it is supposed to rain again...
My brother-in-law(s) will probably come over tomorrow night to hang out with my husband. They usually eat pizza and congregate around the Xbox (I'll find something else to do ). We've been trying to cheer up his younger brother lately because he had a rough time last weekend after finding out the girl he was pursuing isn't interested in him. Poor guy. Also, I'll try to get in contact with my Marine brother who's in CA finishing some basic training.
I was going to be getting together with my husbands family today but with half of them sick we decided to reschedule for next month. I went and printed out some pictures for my husband and sent him a letter (he's in bootcamp).
Me and my bf have planned to take the doggies for a hike then get ready and go look around for things to decorate our daughter name probably a nice lunch... This weekend is special to us because it's the weekend we ended up together
Im pumped. DH and I took Froday off as well to make this a 4 day weekend. We painted the entire nursery, and put up new shelving in our closet to make room for us both to fit in as he was in the nursery closet for his wardrobe. We also got a small pool up to surprise 6 year old step daugther with and played around with new stroller.and car seat until I figured out how to work the interlock system on them. Everything is now done so we are relaxing today and tomorrow going with my Aunt to pick up crib. House and nursery will be all ready and together and now I can just wait on baby to get here!!
Our anniversary is tomorrow and DH has the entire day off work, which rarely ever happens. We plan on sleeping in (even though our little guy hasn't been letting me sleep past 7am) and then getting some much needed stuff done around the house (romantic, I know). We will probably at least get dressed up and go to dinner or something.
@Saratiff and all you ladies who have family/SO who have served, thanks! Their sacrifice, as well as the sacrifice of those of you who are left at home while they're gone, is truly appreciated!
