schedule monitored IUI?

Does anyone know what the schedule is like for a fully monitored medicated (clomid) IUI??

I know there will be CD 3 blood work, but when will they do the ultrasounds? How many will there be?

I went to Dr. Google and couldn't find the answer. I know I could call RE and ask but this isn't happening until August and I feel a little silly planning for 3 months out but it's DD Birthday month and I have to plan for her party.

Thanks!

I did CD 3 BW and U/S, then waited for surge for IUI.  Then, when they discovered my follicles were 3.5cm they brought me in around CD 10-12 for an U/S follie check, and I usually triggered that night.

ETA: I did one cycle where they brought me in the day of my surge and saw my mature follicle was 35mm.  (BFN) Next month they brought me in earlier to trigger.  I reread the above, and it read very unclear..sorry!!  :)

I actually just had my first medicated cycle with IUI. It was with Femara, but the guidelines on my instruction sheet are for both Femara or Clomid. I only had to do CD3 blood work and a vaginal ultrasound the very first cycle that I saw the RE as part of my initial testing. Everything looked good on my end. So then this cycle was the first time that I took Femara. I called them on CD1, they called in my RX, I took it on days 3-7, went in for an ultrasound on CD10 to check on the uterine lining and measure the follicles (usually this is done on CD12 per the instructions, but I ovulate earlier than normal so we did my scan early).

Since my ovulation date is very predictable each month, we decided trigger shot wasn't necessary and just waited for a +OPK, which happened for me on CD11. I just had my IUI this afternoon on CD12. I will return a week from today for a progesterone check (takes like 10 minutes) and then will take a HPT two weeks from today.

    Hope that helps!

Eta: I also had an u/s immediately before the IUI today to recheck my follicles.

Thank you for the responses!! Sorry I was unclear...I guess I was trying to figure out which Cycle Days I would need to go in for "monitoring". For example is it just CD 3 for Baselines and then CD 10 to check follies or if there were more u/s than that?? I mean how will they know exactly when to do the IUI if there is only that much monitoring?? In our case there's no fresh sperm involved so I feel like they need to plan for the defrosting of the sperm...no? IDK.

My RE bases the timing of the IUI on either urinary LH surge (detected via OPKs) or they can give you a hCG shot when your follicles reach an appropriate size, which they check at the midcycle ultrasound. The IUI is the day after the +OPK or based on timing of the hCG injection.

I had CD3 u/s to check for cysts, then I would start clomid, or clomid and bravelle, and they would have me in around CD10 to start monitoring the follicle growth.  I usually then triggered around CD18 or whenever they saw that my follicle(s) were big enough.  When I did an all follitism cycle, I did CD3 u/s and blood work, and then had periodic blood work throughout the cycle along with monitoring by u/s every few days until trigger time.

Good luck with your upcoming cycle!
