Movement

I am almost 14 weeks with my fourth. I have been feeling flutters of movement the past couple days. I know it is the baby because I have done this three times before but still my brain is like you're crazy lol. I am very small framed as well. Any other moms feeling early movement?

  • Soooo true. My last little one used to somehow wedge her foot right under my ribs. Not cool
  • I'm 12wk and 4days.. Been feeling random movements since yesterday. I am telling myself I'm crazy because I didn't feel movement until about 18wks last time! I had an anterior placenta tho, so maybe that's the difference?
  • I'm 14 weeks today and I have felt little flutter swipes all week. It's cool to feel. This is my 4th, so it's obviously way easier to tell what I'm feeling. With my first I didn't feel anything until over 20 weeks, super annoying.
  • @CarrieOct15 that is a good question. Maybe it is the different type of movement and baby position. It's exciting tho. I have never really felt pops with any of mine, just flutters and little jumps. So the jumps feel kinda like a small pop
  • @agerstner
maybe because our bodies just know what to look for after the first one :\">
  • I think it's very possible @athomas8369
  • @mattymom same here, almost 14 weeks with my 4th. I like feeling it early but I am also showing way earlier than my 1st or 2nd. A ftm I know posted a pic the other day and she is 6 months along and my bump looks the same as hers!! Lol. So I guess that is the flip side of experience ;)
  • I'm 15 weeks and I've been feeling little flutter-like feelings for a little bit and am thinking it's the baby but I can't decide! lol it's always in the same spot so I feel like it is but this is my first so I still am not certain!

  • I've posted this like a million times today, but idgaf because it's exciting. I'm 16 weeks & felt movement for the first time last night! I got up in the middle of the night for a glass of water, and felt a couple distinct little *pops*. Almost like tiny popcorn popping a couple inches below my belly button. I wonder why some women feel flutters and some feel little pops? Maybe it's the way the baby is moving? Like twirling vs kicking or something?

I felt flutters with my first but I'm getting rolling and and if I lean forward onto my belly a weird almost vibrating feeling right where the baby hangs out.
I was feeling it while getting an ultrasound on Tuesday and seeing the baby moving like crazy.
  • I'm just about 14 weeks and a couple days ago while sitting on the couch I felt a quick flutter really low to the right side. I tried to brush it off as gas because it's my first pregnancy and everyone keeps telling me I shouldn't feel anything this early but I feel deep down that it was the baby I've never felt that before! I uses my fetal doppler right after and found the heart beat in the general area I felt the flutter. I guess I'll have to wait for more movement to see if it feels the same

I'm almost 15 weeks with baby #2 and I have been feeling flutters the past week or so. In fact, baby must know I'm talking about them bc I am feeling flutters as we speak :)
  • I felt my first movements at 16w exactly :)

I felt my first little flutter yesterday at 13weeks 1day. It was so weird and exciting! Cant wait to feel more of them! Makes if feel really real for me to feel my little nugget!
  • Question for experienced moms- once you felt the baby move for the first time, how often did you feel it move after that? I felt mine move for the first time on Thursday, & haven't felt it again since. Obviously, I'm not going to worry until I'm further along, but I'm curious when movements started becoming "regular".

I really just depends. With ds I felt first movement at 17 weeks and could go a day or two before feeling it again.
Late 20wks I felt more defined movement like ds would push his body against my uterus and shortly after were the crazy belly distorting movement.
    It's very exciting!
  • After my anatomy scan when I saw and felt baby at the same time I started feeling my daughter all the time. Up until that point I was really unsure about what I was feeling and then BAM, movement all the time.

The coolest is the full on belly mivement in the 3rd tri!

  • 15w today and it's apparently a uterus party! LOL DD1 was much later, and I really don't remember when DD2 started beating me up. Consistent movement is usually after 20w, and then it seems it never stops by 35w. Hopefully this one will be nicer to me than the last, she was a ninja for the last 7 straight weeks.
  • Thanks @QueenWaldorf & @MadBloom! I always thought about the first movements, but I wasn't sure what to expect afterwards. :P

I'm on baby #4 and I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow. No flutters or pops for me! But for the last week I've felt more of a squirming, wriggling feeling every now and then, like I can feel baby rolling over like a little eel. But I also just might be nuts.

@CarrieOct15 you might find things that set it off as the weeks go on. Baths used to make mine go crazy in my tummy. And when I ate ice poles! As you get further on they can sometimes get a bit of a routine too, they like to go crazy when you're trying to sleep!

That's what I'm feeling is rolling. I only got flutters early with my daughter. This feels so weird.
  • 13 weeks and I feel nothing... Wish I could feel something already. It kinda worries me. This is my third I have 16 and 14 year olds so this is a surprise but when I was preg w those two they moved a lot this early.
