Hey Ladies,
Just wondering if anybody purchased their baby's coming home outfit. I'm obsessed with trying to find one, however I have no idea of the baby's gender yet. Also, I live in NY and the weather in October fluctuates. Where did you buy or find your outfits? Feel free to post a pic.
Re: coming home outfit for baby
Edited to add: we got it well before we found out the sex, but think it's perfectly adorable for a girl or boy. Her little face is going to steal the show anyway

He ended up in just the jacket and onesie because the pants were huge!
If I have another boy, I'll bring this set and maybe a couple options in other sizes, and if I have a girl . . . I'll be looking for something pink or purple, though I might get a "little sister" onesie and get DS a "big brother" shirt to match.
I bought two options from Carter's. One sleeper and a set with onesie, hat, and pants. He could easily be a September baby and the weather could be wonky. The outfits should arrive today!
I personally don't think you're wrong. However, I also kind of get where your SIL is coming from. It's her first niece or nephew so she's quite excited, I'm sure. When my sister has my nephew, I was so excited to get to buy stuff for him that the day I found out he was a boy, I went out and bought an outfit. I gave her some cute little onesies and socks all wrapped up like cupcakes (as seen on Pinterest) for her shower, and I don't even know if they were ever used! She never shared any pics of her son wearing them or even said, "thanks but they were too small."
I feel like your SIL wants to be able to do something special for the baby, which is probably why she wants to buy the going home outfit. I'd say something like, "thanks for offering, but this is something we wanted to do ourselves. However, if you'd like to pick out an outfit for baby to wear the first full day at home (the day after coming home), I'd be honored."
