Trying to Get Pregnant

Period has been off

My period has been off track for the last couple of months. And I can't seem to track when I am ovulating. I use two apps to help keep track, but each of them say different things. My husband and I decided to try for our first baby. Could someone help me?

How have you been tracking your periods? Are you tracking your temps with a BBT? Most ladies here will recommend you track your temps and use the Fertility Friend app as that will give you much more useful data than an app that simply tracks the length of your cycles. Also order a copy of the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and read the "If You Could Tell a Newbie Anything" thread pinned at the top of this board and lurk, lurk, lurk this board. These ladies are full of wonderful insights and you will learn a lot! Good luck to you!

Hi! Have you lurked at all? We recommend buying the book taking charge of your fertility and temping using a basal body thermometer. You do this first thing in the morning before getting out of bed at about the same time every morning. You then enter this data along with any ovulation predictors and cervical fluid information into the app fertility friend. It will determine your ovluation date after you have ovulated. Therefore having sex every other day around the time of ovulation is your best bet until you better understand your cycle. And remember it can take a healthy couple a year to concieve. Goodluck to you!

An app cannot confirm ovulation, it just guesses.  You could be completely missing your fertile window.  Take PPs advice and download fertility friend and look into temping.  Also read the post pinned at the top for newbies, there is a lot of good information there.

I did this for months too and had your exact same frustration. Came here in March and realized there was definitely a better way. I learned tons from these ladies, downloaded FF, bought TCOYF and now I feel SO much more prepared and confident about getting KU.

I hope you stick around and good luck!!

Just downloaded the app. I'm going to try all that you ladies have said. Thank you ;;)

Also wanted to add that if you just started TTC, everything probably seems off just because you're paying more attention to it now, then you were before.  Good luck!

Hello and welcome. You've got it backwards. The day of ovulstion is not determined by the date of your period. Instead, the date of your next period is determined by the date you ovulate.

    So wise Borg, so wise.

    Too bad there's a typo.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.
