Breast Milk Production...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Anyone knows of a great remedy that can help me produce more milk for my preemie baby? I don't want to use formula at all.

Re: Breast Milk Production...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

  • On the days that my dd wants to eat all day long i find drinking a form of sports drink really helps my milk supply

I pumped a lot to boost up my supply again in one breast.
  • Buy some Fenafreek pills. These are a natural way to boost breast milk production. I took these pills when I had my first kid and they were a life saver! You could also rent a medical grade pump. These pumps work way better than the ones we buy in stores.

More Milk Plus was recommended to me by my LC
  • @Coco118 did you use More Milk Plus? Did it work for you? I haven't heard of it before. I'm currently taking the max dose of fenugreek without much luck.
  • My LC suggested fenugreek and it wasn't helping much but a combination of pumping with a hospital grade pump, fenugreek, lactation cookies, breastfeeding, and drinking tons of water has helped. A few ladies in my breastfeeding support group said that Clif bars are good also. They're actually a protein bar that you would get in the pharmacy section but it's got fennel and molasses and obviously lots of protein too.
  • Fenugreek, Blessed Thistle, Mother's Milk tea, lots of water, pumping 8x/day for 20 minutes/side. You can also talk to your OB about either Domperidone, or Raglan if you still are struggling with production.

@TracyB4889 I wasn't pumping yet when I started taking it so I don't have much to compare it to, but I do feel more engorged since starting it.

If you get the more milk plus make sure you get the alcohol free kind. The kind with alcohol is really disgusting.

Or get the capsules like I did, then there's no taste!

I got told oats are really good so flapjacks and porridge
  • Pumping in between feedings, gatoraid, ginger ale, beer, breast massage before and during pumping or feedings , meditation to get rid of stress because stress is not helping oh and skin to skin with baby can increase your supply!!! Good luck !!!
  • Fenugreek capsules not really help for me. Oat, salmon, nursing tea, papaya soup have an effect for me. Milk increase around 1-2oz every time when I pump on the next day. Or else more effectively u can try power pumping.
  • Mothers milk tea 3-5 times a day. It worked for me. I also see a increase when I drink sports drinks.
