When is baby shower

when is everyone planning the baby shower. I am pregnant with twins so I am thinking of having it middle is September. Too early?

Re: When is baby shower

  • I'm having 2 because my family is so far away, so one is early August, and the other is mid September.

  • I'm a second timer so no shower here. I had mine at 27 weeks because I had to fly in.

My sister in law is planning on beginning of Sept, my family will most likely be end of August or mid September. I think your September idea is not too early, the way I see it October can be perfect to set up, get any extra/missing items and just get organized and prepare for Nov!
  • I'm having my first one in the beginning of August because I will be visiting home (DH and I live 17 hours from there) so we are taking advantage of the trip. Not sure if I'll have one in the town I'm living in but I will probably be in late September or early November if I do
  • Not having one this time but with my first had one at the end of August and mid September (was due mid November)

I think my mom is planning something small around the fourth of July (probably just family), but I haven't been offered an "official" one.
  • The baby shower is normally whenever your hostess plans it for ;)

My mother had one a month before I was due with my daughter and then my mother in law hosted one for that side of the family about 3-4 ish weeks after she was born.

When is your due date? I am also expecting twins due Nov 15. Since you should be prepared for labor as early as 32 weeks, I'm planning on letting family/friends know that August might be the best month for showers. You also want to feel your best, and with multiples it can be exhausting the further along you are!
  • I'd want it in September but my sons bday is September 16th I wouldn't want two parties in one month and his god brothers bday is in October it's difficult to decide when for me
  • My family threw ours earlier with my last one. She was due in January so we wanted to avoid the holidays. The shower ended up being in October, which was totally fine.
I say get with the host and see what works best. Obviously they would take your input into consideration.
  • Echoing pp's, obviously, the hostess decides when the shower is and what kind of shower it will be. That being said, many hostesses will ask you for input as to when you would want your shower. I'm lucky enough to have most of our family within a couple of hours' drive, so traveling isn't much of an issue. I've had 3 offers already - one from my aunt, one from SILs/MIL, and one from a friend from work. We won't be registering for many big-time ticket items as we'll be using mostly hand-me-downs. My aunt's will be a traditional shower, in-laws' will be a diaper party, and work friends' will be a book shower. No dates set yet, but we'll probably keep them within 6 weeks of due date.

  • I am also pregnant with twins and due 11th Nov. Planning on doing mine at the beginning of september
  • Mine is going to be Mid September, I am due Nov 3.
  • My twins are due November 21, but my showers will be in the end of August and beginning of September. Like a pp, we just want to be prepared and I want to be feeling good for these events, so we opted for a little earlier than what may be customary.

    We're having twins

Our angel baby boy is looking over his twin sister - due November 21
