Body Pillow?

This may have been asked before, but I can't search for it on my phone. Those of you who use a body pillow, is it really worth it?

This is number 3 for me, I didn't use one with the first 2. But lately I've been using one of our extra pillows to get comfy. Wondering if I'd be better off just purchasing a body pillow, but I have a hard time justifying spending that much money on something I'll only use for a few months.

Re: Body Pillow?

  • Mt hubby bought me the $90 U shaped one and it helps a lot! Worth the money

  • I bought a huge pregnancy pillow last time around. DH hated it! Lol. I ended up throwing it out as soon as DD was born. This time saving the $75 and just using 2 king size pillows. Works just fine for me and takes up less space
  • I have the Snoogle. I purchased it on Amazon and it was worth every penny.
  • I love my snoogle. This is our first baby and will have more pregnancies hopefully though. If this was my last I probably would just tough it out unless you're having trouble sleeping

  • I have the snoogle as well... didn't have one for my first pregnancy and dont know how I lived without it lol. I love it and it helps me actually get comfortable sleeping. We went on vacation this weekend and I didn't bring it with me, tried to use regular pillows and was miserable.

I have the c shaped pregnancy pillow. Worth every penny. I'll probably take it to the hospital with me because I'm that addicted. We'll see. Ha!

  • I bought a snoogle and was super excited about it but it is just too bulky for me and a pillow between the legs seems to work better. By the time I get situated and comfortable I have to struggle to get myself out of bed and untangled to use the bathroom. I have heard so many people say they love it though! I'm keeping mine for now, maybe I'll try it again closer to my due date if I need more support.
  • I just use one of the regular cheap body pillows that are like 20 bucks at Walmart and it works fine for me!
  • I have a snoogle and love it. I was a back sleeper and the snoogle was the only way I could sleep on my side. Definitely worth it for me and I take it if we're going away, etc. I can't sleep without it!
  • I use a regular body pillow from Walmart.   It's so nice to have something to wedge underneath my growing belly. I wouldn't be able to sleep without it!
  • I have the giant U shaped one too and love it.
  • I have the C shaped pregnancy pillow and don't like it, at all. I'm tall (5'10") and it is awkward to use. I have friends who have sweared by them though. I've always slept with a pillow between my legs so I have just been using another regular pillow under my tummy and I like that much more. My dog, however, loves my pregnancy pillow. Luckily, I didn't get it new, I bought it from a friend for $15... Best dog bed I've ever bought.

The boppy pregnancy pillow is the only reason I get a decent night of sleep

  • my snoogle is the only reason i get any sleep....i am a back sleeper too and the snoogle has helped me transition to being a side sleeper for babe.
  • I have a candy cane shaped one that I bought from somewhere my first pregnancy beginning of 2nd trimester. I love it. Broke it out about week 6 with this baby. As someone else said though, if this were my last pregnancy, I would tough it out with multiple pillows this far along. If you plan on having more, its worth the investment.

I have a regular body pillow from Walmart cost 8 dollars which is really comfortable and I really "needed" one before I got it (so I thought) but now that I have it, it doesn't really get any use I just pile my blankets under me or where I want it much more control then a body pillow or spending lots and lots of money for those pregnancy pillows you probably aren't going to get much use out of after pregnancy anyways , In my opinion it's a waste I'm glad I decided to go the cheap route before getting a expensive one , but then again everyone is different just because someone likes something doesn't mean you will and vise versa .
And sharing a bed with my SO their definitely isn't any room for me,him and a huge pillow .
  • I purchased on in the second trimester. I absolutely love my body pillow but I still use two other pillows to help support my belly. I wish I would have bought the U shaped one.
  • I thought about getting one of the big U shaped pregnancy pillows. But my husband and I have a smaller bed (queen) and I think it would take up too much space. Also as long as my husband is there too snuggle he is kind of like a human pregnancy pillow LOL.
  • mine was $17. Its just a regular big ol body pillow but I love it. I'd say buy a cheap one first and see if that helps. If it doesn't at least you only spent 20 bucks and you can throw it in your guest room.
  • This is my first and more than likely only pregnancy so I didnt want to splurge on a pillow, but stomach started feeling umm stretched??? at night so ive been sleeping with an extra pillow between my legs and then one underneath my belly as well and its been great just this way.
  • I don't like the boppy one. It's small and doesn't do it for me. I want a snoogle!
  • I love my Snoogle, I sleep with it every night!
  • I have had a lot of trouble justifying maternity expenses. But I was getting so miserable at work from lack of sleep that I couldn't take it anymore. $55 for a snoogle is saving me countless sleepless hours and painful nights and making my days so much more enjoyable. Worth every penny

I have the boppy pregnancy pillow and boppy pregnancy wedge. Some nights, it's the only way I sleep.... some nights I get frustrated from being uncomfortable that I throw it on the floor .....
  • Hated the special U shaped pregnancy pillow I borrowed from my sil. Love the cheaper body pillow I borrowed from my bff!
  • Lol I have "my pillow" that has traveled the world with me for years and years. I finally caved and bought the snoogle. The snoogle has now been to aruba, MA, RI and PA because I cannot sleep without it.

Another vote for the snoogle! I used to toss and turn a lot, but the snoogle keeps me in one position all night. Definitely recommend!
  • My husband bought me the boppy pregnancy pillow for Christmas. I am a fan, and have not had any trouble sleeping.

I love my snoogle and cannot sleep without it! I keep it on the outer left side of the bed and my husband sleeps to the right of me so I have a snoogle or snuggler either way I turn. :)
  • We got ours for $40 at SAMs and it's given me the best sleep I've ever had!
  • I made my own body pillow out of a long 5ft bolster pillow case and some bean bag beans. Couldn't do without it now, it's really squishy so it flattens a bit between my knees but I can bash it about to get extra plumpness for other bits. Didn't take it away with me and regretted it, didn't sleep for 10 nights. Sleep is so underrated and I'm aiming to get as much as I can before she arrives.
  • I bought a snoogle and cannot sleep with it. It is far too constricting as I have to be able to switch from one side to the other at night. I also found it really hot. I have actually had much better luck with 2 regular body pillows from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I'm going to give the snoogle to my mom who loves it for her chronic neck/back pain. Good luck finding what works for each of you!

Yes, they are worth it. My snoogle is so completely amazing. Hubby is actually a little jealous and tries to steal it all the time. Highly, highly, highly recommended.
