My phone! It has everything I need on it when I am stuck holding Payton. And I found a baby channel yesterday and she loves it. Allows me to eat lunch without hurrying.
@harmonicbabe26 don't feel bad about tv. My girls always had the tv on and the older two are in gifted classes. My 7yr old is the top reader in her 1st grade class. Tv didn't seem to hurt them.

Well you should all count yourselves lucky. I tried to be a "bad" parent and introduce DS to the tv. He doesn't care. I can't even get 2 minutes to go to the bathroom without him destroying something or hurting himself. His new thing is to push the ottoman to the baby gate and attempt to climb over it, or climb to the back of the recliner and rock it over to the kitchen pass-through window, to climb into the kitchen. We already had to move furniture around to get him to stop pulling the air vent out of the floor and falling in the hole. He'll be 2 next month. How do you baby-proof for a climber? You dont. You just never take your eyes off of him. I wish the tv kept him occupied.
Mine has no interest in tv either. But she loves books, so I guess that has to be my first answer. Coffee for sure. Microwave. I know that's a horrible answer but sometimes you just have to make something FAST.

Haha true about the microwave! DS crys if the food isn't ready fast enough for him but then he crys cause it doesn't cool off fast enough too! (I'm cooking frozen organic meatballs/chicken nuggets mind you) Then he ends up throwing most of it on the floor to be entertained by the dog eating it. Ah Me!

This is exactly what we're going through too. I started getting frozen meatballs, chicken nuggets and fish nuggets by Earth's Best. She likes them but she's just in that phase where it's fun to throw everything on the floor. I just started taking her food away as soon as she starts throwing it so we'll see how long it takes before it makes a difference.

@Guennie my 3.5 yo and 2 yo love those Earthbest meatballs - those with sweet potato fries is my my fail-safe meal when I need something in a pinch.
My 2 yo is also in a meal throwing phase - less about curiosity and more about a tantrum when she doesn't get what she wants (no, you can't have just raisins for lunch). We also end the meal when this happens, but she seems not to be phased by this. I hope the phase ends soon!
