Measuring BIG?

I'm almost 21 weeks and just had my dr appt. and the NP mentioned I was measuring about 23 weeks. I did have a big baby my last pregnancy (9lbs 3oz) but I didn't ever measure ahead. I've only gained 3 pounds and baby is measuring 15oz for weight which the NP told me was average for the gestation. Just curious if anyone else is measuring ahead at this point.

They told me I wAs measuring ahead as well. I'm just gonna go with the flow and possibly be having a bigger baby lol
  • I have not but I've known several who have. It didn't really affect their pregnancy or due date. Sometimes we just grow big bellies :)

  • I'm 19 weeks and just had my gender scan. They said I was measuring five days ahead but due date was the same.

I measured big on my first pregnancy as well as this one (2 weeks ahead). My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and the baby's weight is tright where it should be.

My mother also measured big when she had me and my two siblings. None of us were what you'd call big babies (6-8lbs). I was told by my doctor that because I am short (5'2") the baby has nowhere to go but out and I'll measure big and look bigger :(
  • With my first I was measuring 5 days ahead, turns out he was 9.7 lbs being born !!

What do you guys mean by measuring ahead? That the baby is bigger? Or do they measure your stomach?
  • @bgriest they told me based on my 20 week ultrasound during my last pregnancy, but they can sometimes tell by measuring your stomach as well !

At my ultrasound yesterday baby is measuring 20 weeks 2 days and I'm only 18weeks 4days. They said the Dr may move up my due date from Oct 14 to Oct 5.

For me it was my stomach measurement not the ultrasound.

That makes sense! I'm 5'4 but I have a short torso so I'm thinking that could be why
  • I had my anatomy scan today and I'm measuring four days ahead and weighing in at 13 ounces so far!  I've gained only 2-3 pounds so far.

  • I'm 20 weeks and our baby is 14 ounces. Doc said thats in the 86th percentile, but didn't seem concerned.
