This week I've been fighting the blues a little.  One of my best friends posted gorgeous pictures of her daughter going to the junior prom, and I was really happy for her but realized how far behind some of my friends I am.   I don't usually compare myself to others but this time I just felt a little twinge of bittersweet feelings for not having those types of experiences to share.

I'm still working on the weight loss front, no major changes this week.  DH says he that he sees some progress but the scale doesn't agree.  We'll see I guess! :-)

QOTW:  My theme song would probably be Demi Lovato's "Skyscraper".  The verses are a little sad but the chorus is so inspirational!  It never fails to make me feel better when I listen to it.

    Skies are crying
    I am watching
    Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence, as it's ending, like we never had a chance
Do you have to, make me feel like there's nothing left of me?

    [Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
    Like I'm made of glass
    Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
    Like a skyscraper
    Like a skyscraper

    As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed?
All my windows, still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

    [Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
    Like I'm made of glass
    Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
    Like a skyscraper
    Like a skyscraper

This week was all about the baby making dance I feel like we gave it out best shot fx. Both DH and I did some blood work to see if there is anything else we can work on. It's been a little tough with my bday around the corner but I'm focusing on staying positive.

QOTW-I think I'd pick ...I will survive, because no matter what I still have life to live & love to give

@goldenkeys sorry to hear about your moment of sadness this week. I'm also working on losing weight...anything specific you're doing?

"I will survive" is an awesome choice....   So far I've started cycling in the morning, about 6 miles at around 8mph (not too fast).  I'm also limiting carbs to about 80 grams per day and calories under 1400.    DH and I also switched to drinking green smoothies for breakfast... and I'm surprised to learn that they are delicious and filling!

Oh, and happy birthday in advance! <:-P

  • I am just trying to make it to Thursday, and then I will have my toes in the Maui sand.

If I had to pick a song right now, I would probably have to say that it would be "Girl Put your Records On" By Corinne Rae Bailey.

I will check back in when I get back from Vacay, I can't handle how TB app on my phone, it never works!

    ALOHA!

BFN this morning. I have a feeling we are moving on to cycle 20.

I'm going to have to pick "Don't Stop Believing" for my song. I need a little hope today.

@tiffk10 - so sorry about your BFN. Keep the hope alive.

Since it had been over a year since our first IVF, hubby had to redo his SA this week. So I got to hear all about how "It's the same dvd of porn. You think they'd occasionally change that out." The good news is that he has "truly superior semen" as he likes to put it. Which is true. I'm pretty sure if we ever needed side cash we could sell it.

My song would absolutely be the song I walked down the aisle to at my wedding - Brick House by the Commodores. Close second would be the song we walked out to - Eye of the Tiger :)

No progress with DH on the RE front.
I've stopped temping again this cycle because I just don't want to deal with it on a daily basis. It's been a very emotional week for me. Good news is I'm down 13 pounds total since I started being more healthy...bad news is my emotions want all the carbs.

Hugs for those having a tough time.
  • tiffk10tiffk10 member
@27alex congrats on the weight loss! Sending good thoughts your way on the RE front with DH.

@jnissa and @GoldenKeys thanks for the positive thoughts.

  • @tiffk10: sorry about your BFN...no matter how many of those you get, they don't get easier...
On my end, still benched and waiting for my surgery. I've been trying to make a pre-surgery appointment with my RE for 2 weeks now and just ended up sending a seriously irritated email today after being given the run around (from 'my' nurse, to the surgery receptionist, to the receptionist of the clinic I go to-the guy owns 4 of them, back to my nurse)...so I lost it. But now I have an appointment. Starting to think about looking into alternatives for post surgery treatment. I feel like I'm being treated like even less than a number (because he has 4 clinics and is way too busy).
Song: our wedding song 'on va s'aimer encore' by Vincent Vallieres (translates to 'we'll still love each other')
  • 27alex  Congratulations on the weight loss!  Sorry that you're having an emotional IF week.  I agree that avoiding carbs is so freaking hard to do.  I would love to eat a whole loaf of bread right about now.

@Kidshrink I hate getting the runaround and just fired my general practitioner for the same thing.  She's an awesome doctor but her staff is just too disorganized and unprofessional!

  • I'm here! Still around lol. Last week was a bfn, so had to schedule my ultrasound. I was told during the last iui to schedule it cd12, since that's when I got the + opk
Problem was that that was a Sunday again, and then cd13 was a Monday and memorial day. They tried to schedule me for cd14, but I said no and got it on cd10, which was yesterday. And I'm glad I did... I had 2 eggs, 1 18mm and the other 22 (or 25, I can't remember) so they gave me the trigger shot, and today we did the iui. Hubby's numbers were better too I think, as far as we could tell it was 39 million with 86% motility. I'm just glad we got to do the process correctly this time - here's to hoping!

As for song... not sure. I'll have to think on that.

    TTC since 2011

  • @starlitfae Your numbers sound really promising!!  FX for you.

  • Hello everyone. Sorry I've been MIA been very emotional as I started the pill last Tuesday as we begin the process of our first IVF. It's hysterical how we want to be pregnant so bad but yet I have to be on the pill at the beginning of this process.

So many emotions going through me, which is why I bought a journal this weekend. Has anyone done this before? My DH asked if he could write in it if he ever needs to get his feelings out on paper too, which I thought was super cute. :).

My song: The sun will come out tomorrow from Annie. :) I guess because when I'm down in the dumps I always try and stay positive in some way as I look at my life.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day and a even better week. FX to anyone having tests, ultrasounds, IUI's or IVF's this week.
    Kristy
