mini meltdown

So I'm 15 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I've literally just burst into tears because the cat got in my way and because I'm also feeling so hungry but there is absolutely nothing in this world I want to it. This is the first time I've done this and now I'm feeling a bit silly. Will it get worse? Is anyone else feeling the same about food?

I'm 100% with you on the food. I'm always hungry, but nothing appeals to me. If anything I have very strong aversions to most food. When I do find something I want I typically feel sick afterwards and it ruins that for me too. Sigh. The food thing does get better though. Some of my aversions lasted the whole time last pregnancy, but many got better.

  • I'm right there on that, I woke up angry and frustrated because I'm sick of being hungry and needing to eat but nothing sounds good. Nothing makes me feel better, then I walked into my kitchen and had dishes in the sink and I'm so sensitive to the slightest smells that I got really upset and started crying.

I remember with my daughter the food part got better, but it was later on in my pregnancy. I think I was pretty emotional about little stuff most of the time though lol

  • Tears over food is completely normal. In fact, hunger was the main reason why I cried last pregnancy. Now I try to pick the carb I want to eat then fill in the rest since carbs are far more appealing than anything else to me. If I'm starving I eat a couple jalapeno stuffed olives (the sour helps with nausea for me) and then chose what to eat.
  • Thank you for your replies I don't feel so alone now. I've never experienced feeling like this before its so overwhelming but then I remind myself how exciting and happy I am to have my little peanut (between the sobbing and hunger pangs!!)
  • I literally cried over spilled milk. I have been craving milk during this pregnancy and one night (late, as I do not sleep well) I poured my last glass of milk and as I was walking through the kitchen I dropped and SPILLED milk everywhere. I cried not because I had to clean up the huge mess, but because it was the last of the milk that I had.
  • I cried when my burger didn't have jalapenos on it. Issues with food are completely normal! You're not alone!
