1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?

2. Age at delivery?

3. Any other children or fur babies?

4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?

5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?

QOTW: What's your favorite movie?  Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?  I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby.  Anyone agree or disagree with that?

I've debated not answering this week or any of the following, as I'll probably be put on the watch list and that will be a for real 'oh, sh!t' moment, but...
35 weeks. Coconut. Due June 18

    2. Age at delivery?
    37

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
    2 kitties

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Tired a lot. New thing recently - I'm miserable for about an hour after eating anything. Apparently there isn't enough room for my stomach, my lungs, and a baby. I'm hungry but can't finish things, and the general discomfort afterwards takes away from enjoying what I just ate :-<

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Weekly appointment start next Thursday. Just had my GSB swab on this Friday (2 days ago)

QOTW: What's your favorite movie?  Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?  I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby.  Anyone agree or disagree with that?
Lots of fav movies! Star Wars, Jaws, Galaxy Quest, many many more. I like all kinds of flicks - SciFi, fantasy, horror, sometimes sappy chick flicks if I am in the mood, drama, japanime (Japanese animation - Naruto is one of my fav shows)... I'm media saturated, I can usually find something to watch. And I have Netflix, its awesome. I will probably use it a lot in the weeks after baby comes (series like Burn Notice, or space out to movies that I don't have to pay attention to). Also, I have it on my Xbox, so I don't need a remote - I can just talk to my Xbox to pause or whatever.

    37 wks +4 days. Due June 3rd.

    37

2 kids. 6 yr old DS. 2 yr old DD. 1 dog.

How are you feeling?? READY. Lol. I am so uncomfortable. I did have a pregnancy massage yesterday which helped some of the pain I'm having in my hips and legs but still hurts. A lot of trouble sleeping. Totally exhausted. I just want to have a baby!! I had the therapist hit every labor point yesterday during my massage. I bought clary sage for my ankles. I'm just sooo ready.

Next appt Wednesday. I'll be 38 wks. They said they will check my cervix at that point. I will be so annoyed if there's no progress.

I love movies. It depends on my mood. I do on demand a lot theu my cable company. I'm a sucker for romantic movies. I also love comedy. I'll watch almost anything if my favorite actors are in it.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
40w1 day! EDD was yesterday. Baby is newborn size!! (But he was in the 44th percentile at last measure, and I don't think he's too big.)

    2. Age at delivery?
    36

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
    Nope.

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
I'm having very mild contractions, 6-15 minutes apart, 20-40 seconds in length! I'm trying not to get too excited as it could well be false labor, but since it's been going steady like this since 5am, I'm hopeful it will progress. I'm just visualizing a relatively easy, problem-free delivery, LOL!  I was torn on the epidural, but now I'm pretty sure I want one, having done a lot of research and read a recent review that showed the timing of the epidural didn't have an effect on the length of labor.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
I have a 40 week appointment tomorrow morning, if I make it that far. Something tells me these early contractions are going to last a while... Perhaps we'll have a Tuesday baby?

QOTW: What's your favorite movie?  Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?  I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby.  Anyone agree or disagree with that?

Ooh, great question, but s a tough one. I can't stand horror and tend to veer toward happy endings... I love Tarantino, and who can resist a feminist vengeance story, therefore: Kill Bill. :) A social drama that made a huge impression on me from recent years is the Iranian film A Separation. Others in that category were Sophia Coppola's Somewhere (got terrible reviews but I thought it was great) and more recently Whiplash. On the fun side, I loved Ronin and Inglourious Basterds. For nostalgia, Breathless with Belmondo and Jean Seberg or Benigni's Life is Beautiful.  I'm definitely counting on Netflix and Amazon Prime to get me through all the breastfeeding on the couch! And I'm looking forward to revisiting lots of children's movies, most of all Shrek (but I'm mildly afraid of the Frozen obsession!).  If you love ice hockey, the documentary Red Army is worth a look.

I find it really hard to scroll through all the choices on Netflix so I'm looking forward to recommendations on this thread!

Hi - I'm new here and am happy to find a group around my own age! So I'll jump right in...

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
    15 weeks
    November 10
    Size of an orange, apparently

    2. Age at delivery?
    38

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
We have a 17-year-old daughter (or a 16-yo who is turning 17 in 2 weeks).
Also 2 spoiled rotten dogs & a cat.

    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Feeling much better in the last couple of weeks than I was. Nausea is completely gone and starting to get energy back.

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Next ultrasound scheduled for May 28.

QOTW: What's your favorite movie? Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like? I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby. Anyone agree or disagree with that?

Forrest Gump. Greatest movie of all time!
I do love Netflix, but more for the shows than the movies. House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, etc. I'm sure Netflix will be my new BFF in the weeks after baby comes.

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Been Good!  So so busy though
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Rant:  This baby is quite painful whenever he moves.   Like making me gasp for breath a lot.  I am sort of worried about his size...I mean I didn't think my last felt big at all and was 10 lbs 8 ou.

Rave:Going to pain the laundry room this week.  Another project I have been wanting to get to

Favorite movie is called GIGI.  Its an old old movie and been a favorite of mine since the first time I saw it when I was a teen.  I dont watch many movies at all.  Just don't have the time or opportunity to sit for hours in front of movies!  Netflix for new moms?  hmmm.... Well I am too busy really to watch much tv.  Also, in summer we spend pretty much all day outside.  We have netflix, amazon prime, hulu etc but I rarely ever watch anything on them.  I have been watching Downton Abbey while on the treadmill.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
32 weeks, July 11, squash (and squashed is what my mid-section feels like)
    2. Age at delivery?
    43
    3. Any other children or fur babies?
Three kitties, Maximus, Bailey and Sable.  Sable was actually found in the bassinet the other morning, so we are two for three cats in the bassinet.
    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Emotional.  Fiance leaves for work again tomorrow.  This is the fourth week in a row.  Feeling very alone.  All my friends had their kids earlier in life, and most of them live across the country, so we don't talk a whole lot.  So, yeah, I'm kind of an emotional mess right now.  Hoping it will pass soon.
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Had an appointment last Thursday.  Everything looks good.
Rant: One of my aides is being told tomorrow that she's being let go due to budget cuts.  Am not looking forward to going to work tomorrow at all.
Rave: Just four more days of teaching and one extra day of classroom check out.  Will be a busy week, but am glad it's almost over.

QOTW: What's your favorite movie?  Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?  I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby.  Anyone agree or disagree with that?  Love The Shawshank Redemption.  Also like the Marvel movies.  I pretty much will watch whatever.  Hate horror though.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
5 weeks as of yesterday. EDD is January 17

    2. Age at delivery?
    I'll be 38. Yikes!

    3. Any other children or fur babies?
We have a 3 year old daughter.

    4. How are you feeling?  Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Feeling ok. It's early yet. No sign of morning sickness thank goodness. Low tummy pain. My friend taught me a yoga pose that helps with the pain - sitting with the soles of your feet together. Seems to work!

    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
We have our next appointment on June 1st. I'll be 7 weeks. One thing about being an old lady is that we get to do a bunch of testing early so I only have a few more weeks before we can find out the sex. We were team green the first time but we need to do some shuffling in our house for this one so knowing the sex will be helpful.

QOTW: What's your favorite movie?  Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?  I've heard from some new moms that Netflix is great for when they are home with baby.  Anyone agree or disagree with that?
I completely agree that Netflix was a godsend those first few weeks. But not on TV. My new baby gift from DH was a Kindle Fire and I LOVED that thing. Sitting in a quite room nursing for hours is boring. Sorry. I said it. I love When Harry Met Sally. I never get tired of that movie!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD? What size is baby?
38 weeks. Due on May 31
    2. Age at delivery?
    37
    3. Any other children or fur babies?
One cat who really like scratching on the new throw rug in the baby room (but I will take that over her jumping in the crib any day!)
    4. How are you feeling? Any recommendations for dealing with MS, aches, pains, etc?
Freaked out. Holy crap I am not ready for this! Just trying to mentally prepare at this point.
    5. Upcoming appointments or milestones? Rants or raves?
Weekly appointment today went fine. Cervical check showed "nothing happening down there yet," to quote my doctor.
QOTW: What's your favorite movie? Or, if you can't think of one, what kind of movies do you like?
Hmm... Too hard to narrow down. I do like superhero movies (still havent seen latest Avengers yet, though.), musicals, and independent films.
