Prenatal Vitamins

I'm currently taking Flintstones complete ...I was wondering if anyone had suggestions to a different vitamin. . My body hates them and it makes me feel sicker .
Which I read that your body will reject vitamin sometimes if you used them with your first pregnancy ...which is weird.

Re: Prenatal Vitamins

  • I take one a day prenatals. I take them at night so i can go right to sleep after. That helpa me hold them down.

  • Try the gummies!!!
  • I love the Rainbow prenatals!
  • I'm taking one I got from the health food store that has 3 capsules a day. My naturopath said it will absorb better, as your body can only take in so much at a time and it's easier on my stomach.

  • What's it called the one you take from health food store?

I'm taking the GNC brand prenatal gummies. I'm also taking them right before bed with some water and so far I've had no issues with ms. Knock on wood...
  • I take garden of Eden prenatal that I got from the health food store. You take three a day and they have folate instead of folic acid. I have also heard the Rainbow brand are really good (and less expensive) so I will be trying those next!

I'm also taking the garden of eden raw prenatals. But my OB said I needed to add DHA to them. Does anyone know a good supplement with just DHA?
  • The brand name is NFH, vitamin is called Pre Natal SAP. It's a canadian brand, so I'm not sure if it's available where you live. I was told to look for ones that contain Methylfolate (instead of folic acid) and Methlcobalamin (as the form of B12), since they absorb better and your body doesn't need to process them as much. I have Celiac so I'm extra concerned about my nutrient intake and have been seeing the naturopath for help.

  • I take our local grocery store's brand of one-a-day prenatals. I eat it with a meal and my stomach has been fine with them this pregnancy and my previous one, taking the same pills in the same way.

I love the gummies - they don't make me nauseous like other typical prenatals.
  • I take raw prenatal 3x a day. I do not recommend!!! They make me SO sick.
  • I'm on the New chapter whole food prenatal but I'll be switching to the Kind Organics one after I'm done with these. I just don't need the extra soy and fillers
  • I'm using a prenatal I found at Target. It's a new line of vitamins they carry called Olly. They're chewy and sour and pretty yummy, although I'm starting to have an aversion to them which sucks. When I look at them I just feel eh. Lol this is what they look like.
  • I have gummie prenatals (:. I found them at Wal-Mart, can't seem to find them anywhere else, but I'm sure they're there. They're sure better than horse pills. The brand is Spring Valley.
  • I take Belly Bar Chewables. They are nasty and taste chalky but do the job! About half way through my pregnancy I will probably also have to take a iron supplement with it.

  • The gummy ones are great but check with your doctor since most don't have iron and pregnant women are at a higher risk for iron deficiency. I take nature made prenatal with DHA.
  • I'm taking Centrum prenatals. This is our second baby. Took them with our son and had no issues.
  • I just take a regular women's gummy multivitamin and add 400mg of folic acid so I get the 800mg recommended.

I just want to say this. I read somewhere that taking the rainbow light prenatal with the rainbow light DHA is not good because they both have lots of Vitamin E in them. That amount of Vitamin E in one day is not good for you while your pregnant and has been known to cause birth defects. So after reading that I only take the Rainbow light Prenatal with a different DHA from a different company. I could be wrong on the Vitamin E thing, it could be vitamin B. Either way there is a vitamin in the RL Dha that would make using both these vitamins in combination bad for you. RL needs to stop promoting these two vitamins be taken together for this reason.

I'm just saying this because I read it somewhere and you might just want to be aware in case you weren't aware.

  • I take Target up & up prenatal gummies
  • I take "CitraNatal" which you have to get a Rx for (not sure why) but it includes iron, folic acid, fatty acids, other stuff, and a stool softener :which works! I have not been constipated yet.
  • Is this the Rainbow Lite you all are taking? I was nervous bc the nurse at the doctors said not to take anything with herbs in it.... But I know I've heard this brand is really good https://shop.rainbowlight.com/Prenatal-One-Multivitamin/p/RBLT-109715&c=RainbowLight@ByName

Gummy vitamins for sure. regular vitamins were making me barfy, but these don't. Vita fusion is the brand...they have them at Walgreens and Walmart here.

    ETA: stupid autocorrect
  • Kind Organics whole food prenatal multi and Nordic Naturals prenatal DHA
Might sound a bit crazy I think the prenatal actually helps my stomach, I feel less nauseous for about an hour a half hour after taking!
  • I take natures dynamic pre-natal plus gummys. All natural, veggie based vitamins. Only down side is very little iron but the ones with iron were making me puke so I'll stick with these for now and try to work iron in later on once morning sickness gets better.

Yes that's it. It's great don't worry! You should buy it on amazon though. It's much cheaper.
