  • Good question... :) thanks for the useful answer too. X
  • I think im going to pack mine about 6 weeks early ( i was born at 34 weeks) so id rather be safe than sorry. Im also bringing a full sized upright suitcase instead of a bag lol

  • I packed around 36 weeks for DS. I thought that was fine. This time I'll prob wait longer though. Maybe around 38 weeks? Staring at the bag made the weeks SO LONG lol.

The hospital gives you everything you need and I don't mind sending DH home with a list if I need to.

  • I think with my first I packed around 36-37 weeks. Depends on your situation. We live super close to the hospital and have a lot of family close by so I'm not packing a bag until probably the night before my csection this time. If I happen to go early I can grab the few things I would need. You need a lot less than you think you do.
  • Whenever you want honestly.

I won't even start attempting to pack a bag until 37-38 weeks.

  • I will pack at 32. I had my first at 37weeks and I am type a. I like things done and checked off. I had 3scares with him, and was dilated the whole last 7weekz
  • Probably 32-34 weeks. I was induced early with DD and want to be prepared for anything this time around.

I will make a list and pack when I am in labor. I think it helps distract. But I make a list beforehand because I am usually too distracted to actually think it through!

  • I tend to worry and prefer things done and checked off my to do list so I will start packing my bag around 32 weeks.
  • I'm 28 weeks and Packed but I'm just like that
  • I packed mine 15-20 minutes before I left for the hospital.  Honestly, I never understood the hype around packing one.  I had a mental list going of what I wanted to bring...but most of it was stuff I still needed on a daily basis, so I have never understood why people pack weeks beforehand.

  • I'd say start your list now. If you have things you won't need to use between now and then, go ahead and put them in your bag or start a pile.

For example, I've already put my belly bandit, a nursing gown/robe set, and the big sister/little sister outfits that I want to bring them home in aside. Everything else, I'll just throw together when we are closer to full term.

I so wish I could be like this. Going on vacation, I'm always packed a week, or more, in advance. I hate the last minute packing of my husband. I have miniatures of my daily stuff that is in a zippy bag, so the only last minute thing is my contacts/glasses. I purposefully haven't thought about the hospital bag, but I am afraid after we get back from our vacation the end of June all bets will be off and damn thing will be packed...
  • I'll probably pack a week ahead of my due date. I really think my child will make me wait to meet him. :| I'll make a list and hope I get everything. If not I'm 10 mins down the road from the hospital so no biggie
  • I'll be packing mine around 37 weeks, I went early at 38.5 weeks... so better safe than sorry. And this time I'll keep it in my car lol. Last time I had to go to the hospital without my bag and my husband had to get it before coming to the hospital.

Well if I hadn't had mine packed, I would have had to rely on my husband to get everything together lol. I didn't go from home to hospital. I went work, doctors appointment, then hospital and didnt get back home til I had baby in tow. I'd say you were lucky to be able to have the time to back before leaving, plus I know me... I'd definitely forget something because I always do when I'm packing without a list. I've literally packed for trips and forgot underwear of all things.. hello!

I don't know...I just don't think I need that much (my toiletries, clothes, and something for the baby to wear)?  Plus I travel a lot for work, so packing and organizing things for travel is something I do often.  And if I would have forgotten something, I would have asked my husband/mom/sister/friend if they would mind swinging by and picking it up for me.  To each their own I guess :)

lol... yeah I don't trust my husband lol, he can barely find the milk in the fridge :p And we have no family in town so I have to rely on myself. And I'm highly type A, so that probably also plays a part haha

  • I've slowly been throwing things in a bag already. When It comes to baby stuff I've always rather have it done and that's less I have to do at the end. I don't plan on bringing a crazy amount of stuff but I definitely want to be prepared because the hospital is 40 minutes away and all our family live the opposite direction so if I forget something, I'll be going without. The only things I use now that I'll pcked right before are a few pieces on makeup.

I'm totally with you here. The hospital bag just isn't a big deal to me. It will get packed somehow :)

  • Definitely packing around 34-36 weeks. My sister delivered both of her babies 4 weeks early and had nothing ready either time. Luckily she had me visiting on vacation the first time and I could get things together and run to the store for things that came up since asking her husband or mother in law wasn't worth the hassle.

It's just me and my husband where we live and he's gonna be so exited and anxious I figure I will be prepared plus. I will have a list of what sushi I want from the nearby restaurant when I get out or for an overnight stay.
  • I hadn't packed mine and ended up getting sent straight to the hospital from my 37w appt to be induced because of pre-e.  This time around my blood pressure seems to be ok, but I'll be packing it (and installing the carseat) at 36 weeks just to be safe :)

    Me: 30   DH: 32
    TFAS since May 2013
8/14 - Bloodwork showed heterozygous MTHFR gene mutation and elevated AMH (but no cysts)
9/14 - HSG, Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy showed tubes clear, but found and removed Endometriosis, scar tissue and 2 small benign masses on my tubes.
11/14 - Daily ultrasounds confirmed that my follicles are not releasing the egg and every other day blood draws showed very low progesterone... DH's SA was near perfect
12/14 - moving onto meds!!! Hold up!!!  Surprise BFP after only taking the progesterone!  Now what do I do with all of the other meds we already paid for?!  Due at the end of August 2015 Beta#1- 4434 @ 22DPO  Beta#2 - 7335 @ 25DPO Beta #3 - 14429  @ 28DPO
  • I packed while I was in labor last time. If there's anything you know you'll want and won't need beforehand, there's no harm in packing early
