Spitting up

I'm a new mom and i have a 5 week old baby girl, I'm breastfeeding only, she is starting to spit up what seems like all her milk when I burp her... She has done it three times now, is this cause for concern? Should I attempt to refeed her?

    Definitely refeed her. When my son was vomiting after every feeding the doctor said to make sure to refeed because breast milk is digested fast he would still be getting nutrients.

    I would also search the other posts in this group for pyloric stenosis. And definitely bring it up to your doctor.

    I have this as well. I try to refeed if he will take it. Dr told me it is normal unless it's projectile! Frustrating and upsetting though I feel bad!

    Took my son to the pediatrician yesterday for the same reason, he will be a month old Wednesday. She said we were overfeeding him. I am breastfeeding, but apparently too often. She said he shouldn't eat more than 1 Oz per hour (so if he feeds every 2 hours then he should eat about 2 oz). She also suggested to sit him upright for 20 to 30 minutes after each feed. Also, if you are producing alot of milk, try pumping off an ounce or so bedore you feed. Seems to help my LO. He is gaining weight well however, so the MD was not too concerned. Definitely something to ask the pediatrician about though!
