  I just tried out a blow dry bar! It was awesome.
  
  They wash, blow out, and style your hair for like $35. So relaxing and nice if you have a work function or just want to relax and be pampered.

  One of the nicest thing that I got at a shower was a giftcard to a seafood restaurant. This way its a present for mom and not baby. My bday is 8 days after my due date so it will be nice to not have to pay for a nice meal.

  I totally agree, I got all baby stuff for my birthday this year and while I appreciated it, it was kind of a bummer. I vote spa certificate or gift card to like Amazon

  Another vote for a prenatal massage. Just so heavenly when you feel pretty crummy from pregnancy. I know that I've gotten a deal on a 3 pack of massages thru Groupon and I spaced them out during my third tri when I felt most yucky. If she could have a massage for her birthday, and maybe one to keep 'in the bank' for later, I know I would appreciate that a lot if I were your friend. Maybe there are deals you could find in your neighborhood.
